Happy Chinese New Year all! Year of the Pig sounds like it may be a toughie but hopefully it's good to us dragons and of course all you other signs ;) Actually I think it may start tomorrow but it lasts a couple of days anyway. I wish we made more of an effort to celebrate it; it was never really a big deal when I was kid but I would like to make it a bigger deal in my old age. We celebrate Thanksgiving, it's an American holiday and we're Americans so no big thing but it doesn't necessarily have any major cultural significance for us-our ancestors didn't come over any Mayflower related ship, immigration and all that, we came over via slave ship (okay, maybe a few of my ancestors came over from during that influx of European immigration, I don't know a lot about that side) and the rest of my family still lives in Vietnam so CNY actually does have cultural significance for us. The CNY also raises another question-why do we call it Chinese New Year? Never have I heard anybody refer to the holiday as Tet.

Anyway onto my next issue-My Chem is coming here in April and of course I'm dying to go. My mom actually owes me a concert or two, there were many many concerts these past few years that I could've gone to but wasn't ablt to for some reason and she always said we could go to the next one and here's the next one and I really want to go. She said we could go but she doesn't want us on the floor and of course all the seating that's left is pretty lame. I'm unsure of how to convince her. She's under the impression that we're going to be felt up and beat up if we're on the floor. I've never heard anything negative about a MCR concert in that way and I'm not worried (I'm short but I'm not fragile), and she's always on about how I should do stuff on my own since I'm older, of course, something comes along and she has some kind of problem with it. My poor heart can't take missing another kickass concert.

Despite the fact that it's early afternoon, I think may have a bit of a lie in, lol, anyway. I should have gone to bed much earlier last night but my movie was on (have I mentioned how much I love 3-Iron ;)) and I have watched a decent movie in a while. And I don't have any major work to do this weekend, I think I deserve a little r&r after two test filled weeks ^^ Hope the f-list is enjoying their weekends :)
