I can't believe it! I'm caught up in LJ!

Oh my gosh! I'm FINALLY caught up in LJ, WOOHOO 8D! Now I just need to catch-up on my backlog in Gaia which I currently can NOT do because I sent the computer that I use to access it to our computer god for a look --;. I can still somewhat access Gaia on my work computer, but it would take too long with all the script errors. I probably will go on Gaia for a bit though with script errors and all to update my journal there. I realized that my Gaia journal is somewhat a backup of my LJ ever since Gaia started journals there, so it's good to keep them in sync!

I haven't logged onto Facebook recently too because it too gobbles up too much RAM on this computer. Nothing says old like only have 128 Kb of RAM to play with!

As for Taiwan, I just have a few bits to say about the rest of my trip. The fruit and vegetables there are AMAZING and DELICIOUS o-O! I've never tasted better Chinese vegetables in my life! I asked my Mom why she doesn't buy any here, and she said she DOES, but they just taste OLDER and YUCKIER here ;b! I ate fresh dates for the first time in my life too, and they tasted like anjou pears =9! Taiwan also has clementines the size of REGULAR oranges o-O! I just put my thumb in on the end of the humongous clementine, and it instantly pops in half! I really think the U.S. should breed clementines here to be that big too X)! Sigh, I should have eaten and drank more juice.

Dad also brought us to this amazing buffet near the famous dumpling restaurant. The buffet had BEER gelatin and RED WINE gelatin o-O! I didn't try those, but they were apparently okay according to my brother-in-law. I also went to Jasons, that international grocery mart in the basement of Taipei 101 where Andrew Zimmern went to for his Taiwan episode. It was free sample day, so I got lots of nibbles. The most nibbles were of CHEESE, the 'hot' item of the day.

I also watched some weirder Taiwan TV including a shopping channel which was featuring some kind of wonder push-up bra bodice. For 10-15 minutes straight, the screen featured a woman wearing the bodice, tightening and loosening the front end for cleavage effect XD! It was basically, "No cleavage. Cleavage! No cleavage. Cleavage!" This was on during the DAYTIME too! My brother-in-law said that if that were shown here in the U.S., it would be watched by millions of guys XD! I wonder if it's up on YouTube somewhere though?

I also caught a more 'risque' infomercial around 11:00 p.m. there which I basically called the STRIPPER channel. It was a 30 minute to an hour long infomercial for phone sex, but to advertise it, they would show women STRIPPING down to their bra and panties O-O! First, some randomizer on the screen votes for whether the woman, dressed in typical male fantasy garbs of either nurses or school girls, would take off a top or bottom. After the vote is cast, the woman then 'seductively' takes off said piece and dances around the screen for a bit. This would go on until she's down to her last 2 bits of clothing before it stops. There's also a webcam segment of some rough low voice asking a woman what she's wearing and then asking her to take it off. This would also go on until the woman is down to her bra and panties, and she would flirt for the camera with her behind or cleavage XP! I showed Mom this the next night (Yes, I showed MOM!), and she said the infomercial is actually from Singapore or Japan. Everything was dubbed poorly into Chinese with mismatched mouth movements.

I also caught glimpses of Powerpuff Girls Z on Cartoon Network! I LOVED it! I really hope Cartoon Network brings it over to the U.S.. I could barely find any merchandise for it in Taiwan except for some multiplication boards and cellphone 3D puzzle balls, all of which I bought ;b! 3D puzzle balls are a HOT item in Taiwan at the moment, and they've somewhat invaded the U.S. at least in Barnes & Noble during the holidays if you check their puzzle section. I also saw Sergeant Frog, Sugar Sugar Rune, and tons of other magical girl shows which I would LOVE to watch if they get licensed here 8}! Sadly, I don't think I knew the name of some of those other shows, ARGH! I guess I'll just have to wait for them to show up here for me to identify them.

The other kids' network there was Yoyo TV which has some sort of relationship with Nickelodeon, so I saw Spongebob Squarepants and Dora the Explorer there too. Yoyo TV also showed Shin-Chan as an actual kiddy show which I thought was amusing considering how it was reversioned here by Funimation to an adult show. Shin's adventures just get weirder and weirder from what I could tell. The episodes I watched had him battling some giant robot. I was also amused that the Chinese actress they got to voice Shin sounds just like Laura Bailey's version of Shin! I guess the original Japanese version of Shin sounds like that XD! On the other hand, the guy they got to do Spongebob sounds NOTHING like Tom Kenny's version XP!

Of course, there was the Disney Channel there too which had a nice feature for the SAP audio feed, so I could watch the shows in ENGLISH if I wanted to instead of Chinese dubbed! Of course, that only worked for shows that actually had English ;b.

I would upload my pictures, but that's something only my 'new' computer that mooncatx gave me can do --;. Also, I couldn't do a report on Taiwan because I was there for so long that things started blurring together o~O!
