Why don't they make toy diecast cars like the ones I drive =/? It's not fair! I've been (toy) car shopping for awhile now looking for maybe a nice reminder of my now dead old Buick Electra Park Avenue, but I don't think anyone makes a toy diecast of that model. It seems all the toy car companies make are fancy race cars, new concepts, some 'cool' looking current cars, cars related to cartoons and other media, and classics from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. No one makes toys of cars that I have driven --;. I guess I was lucky to find, back in the late 70s or early 80s, that lovely green toy station wagon to remind me of my first family car, Speed Buggy. Speed Buggy was that VERY same color green (after his first coat of paint died), and he was a station wagon! It's still one of my favorites X)!
Yeah, I know there are quite a few common cars that are standards among the toy industry like the Dodge Viper, the Mini Cooper, the Volkswagon Bug, etc., but I've never ridden in any of them either ;b! I never saw toy cars of my other family cars including our Chevy Impalas (unless they're 60s Impalas), Buick Skylark, or my built-for-only-2-years-before-it-was-discontinued Cadillac Cimarron. Maybe, one day, one of my old cars will be in vogue enough to merit its own little diecast model.
Tomorrow is
Anime Detour, but I probably won't be going until Saturday because of work. I see
Asylum Anime and Curt will not be coming again this year. Maybe they decided to ditch Detour after Detour ditched them last year even though Asylum WAS one of Detour's first sponsors. I wouldn't be surprised if Curt and Asylum never come back to Detour ;b! Eh, it just gives me more incentive not to try organizing a cel gathering, especially since there probably will be no cels whatsoever at the convention. I think I've given up on organizing a cel meeting after my first 2 failures at Detour and the Source. I won't bring out my collection unless someone invites ME to do so ;P!
