Sigh, I guess there goes that venue of hope. In my recent zeal for nostalgia and old stuff I recorded and regrettably ERASED as a dumb kid, I tried e-mailing the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to see if one could obtain copies of past Emmy Award broadcasts. Unfortunately, as I did expect but still hope for, the Academy has a long standing policy NOT to distribute copies of any of its past Emmy broadcasts --;. I wish I had the technology to recover previously recorded images from old videotapes like one sees in many investigative TV shows. Maybe I still have what I'm looking for in the other pile of videotapes I haven't checked yet, but I kinda doubt it. I would have loved to rewatch the Sesame Street cast sing the alphabet of television terms along with the game show host choir ;_;! Yeah, I'm nostalgic for weird things.
