so this is the new year
Hey there people. I've been reading a lot of LJ but not updating for some reason. Life is fine, but I've been having insomnia issues lately. It's frustrating how Matt thinks that because I can't sleep I should be able to be productive, but I'm just so exhausted. I can't do anything. And I can't sleep.
XMAS was good; my family gave me some really lovely and useful things, and his parents got me far too many things. It made me uncomfortable. And pants! Who buys someone else pants? Someone with my hips and picky taste? I need to trade those in.
Been cooking like crazy, although attempting to axe out starches and meat and up the veggies, less like a french woman, more like a Portlander. Goodbye, buttery cream sauces. Matt's been trying to bake. Not so successful. Tasty, but he fails on structural issues. And textures.
It was in the 70s last week. Today it's around 32. Which is good, I suppose, but I am not anticipating my bike ride home tonight. Hosted First Friday by myself last week and sold two small sculptures. Theoretically I'm applying to Sotheby's Institute. Just need to finish my essays and write back to the professor I asked to recommend me. Got a cold call from some school in London last night. Apparently Gradschools.com is pimping my name. Probably why I got so much in the mail from Chicago. Babysitting when I'm not at the Gallery. Boring, Boring, Boring.
