Does anyone else get excited around February, because Black History Month = hella lotta documentaries? I sure do. On all the channels everyone gets their Ken Burns on, even VH1. They tone down the flippant and bring in the experts. Even for 'Black in the 80S' and 'And You Don't Stop: The History of Hip-Hop' So many documentaries, so little time. I had a big conflict last night, because 'The War That Made America' was going into part two as Project Runway came on. Of course I put my history on hold for design. I'm a Dan fan!
Missy's coming to visit me! Some time in the next couple of days. Suddenly I'm not working at all again, so that should sync up nicely. Our house is freezing though. OH! The other night there was a lightening storm with snow. I didn't even think that was possible. It was super spooky, with the flashing and booming, and snow blowing sideways.
I want to murder the cats. They've taken to scratching at the bedroom door all night long, waking me from my tenuous slumber. Matt's going to punch through the wall from banging on it. I'm thisclose to throwing them in the shower. If you let them in the bedroom, they walk all over you all night and STILL scratch at the door. If you try to ignore them they both scratch at the door together. They do not do this during the day, only at night. I'm hella supra cranky this morning.
I have already called the Philadelphia Legal Services (it's phone intake day) and left my message. Now to just wait the indeterminate amount of time for a lawyer to call me back. (This is all regarding why someone without insurance on low income should pay more for the same procedure than an insurance company would.)
Benn busy. Did a million chores yesterday, including buying pants. But I need to go back to Old Navy, as they left a security tag on a pair of jeans. Irksome. Tuesday I did the music class with Dylan and went a did a visit with Chloe. We went to the Academy of Natural Sciences for the Frogs! exhibit. Monday I worked all day long covering for someone. Sunday I read by the fire and then closed the store. Saturday I worked and did the most amazing board. If only you could see it. Friday I worked. And painted. Want to see?
Anyway, it is cold. Wind chill in the teens! It was in the 50s days ago! I need to go to the gym but I don't want to right now, as I AM SO CRANKY. I'm going to finish a cover letter for a gallery and then go paint some more fashion illustrations (that's what these things count as.) The goal is to get 12 really wonderful works I genuinely love (not just have finished) before trying to get some in the Art Shop.
