summer and the livin's easy

Apr 17, 2007 02:20

today, i was just offered a job with our summer housing office. i will be a resident housing office assistent all summer, which means i get to stare at computer screens, watch movies, and help high schoolers with big, scary georgetown, all for the low price of $7.00/hr!

but then i remembered that i get free apartment housing with only one roommate (my current roommate), and everything became that much better.

so basically, i'm down in DC this summer, working for the RHO and working for a newspaper in falls church, god willing. i am allowed very few days of vacation, which therefore means i will be taking very few trips home and seeing a very few of you while i'm in kop. that just means PLEASE COME DOWN AND VISIT ME. just because i don't talk to you much in the school year doesn't mean anything, i just have a very busy life.

(quick update on that: georgetown basketball finished #4 in the nation - i got to watch our team mount an incredible comeback against north carolina only to go to atlanta five days later for the final four. march was the most incredible month i could have asked for. i've been dating an amazing girl named kaelah from antigone for nearly 3 months now. we went to her house in connecticut for easter, which was also a lovely time to remind me why i'm jewish (although damn do you christians eat during your holidays, i'm still full from easter brunch). she has been incredible for me. absolutely incredible. i was in such a slump earlier this year that i'm amazed that i turned it around this much, although i promised myself 2007 would be my year after 2006 not being everything it could have. so we're two college kids in love and that's the kind of shit that almost no one wants to hear about but that i want to talk about because it just feels so damn good again. amen.)

ideally, i will be in connecticut for kaelah's birthday on may 25, and umphrey's is playing in philly on june 1 - hopefully at least myself and hopefully she will come to philly to meet everyone, see umphrey's (again, we just saw them saturday night and oh oh, it was magic - ps, i interviewed the percussionist for umphrey's on thursday for the school paper, which was oh oh more magic, but the show was phenomenal too... doobie brothers and floyd covers, the whole first set was just beautiful, and oh god the stewwwww), learn why philadelphia is the best damn city in the world and there ain't no other way about it, you know, the usual.

peace out boyscouts, hope shit's going as well for everyone else
