So I watched this movie the other day and I can say is "WHOA". I'm not a Nicolas Cage fan at all, but this movie put him on my list.
So basically, Tom Welles (Nicolas Cage) is investigating the authenticity of a snuff film in which a girl is brutally raped and murdered. He enlists the help of Max California (Joaquin Phoenix) and learns about the underground world of porn. After discovering the truth about what happened to the girl, Welles seeks revenge on those involved.
I don't even know what to say about this movie. It's intense. The more you watch it, the more you get drawn into it. You want justice for the girl.
Joaquin Phoenix's performance was amazing. He has the best lines in the movie, seriously: "Are you sure? I'd hate for you to be in one of those everyday situations that calls for a battery-operated vagina and not have one." Ahahaha.
I'd give this a 9 out of 10.
