I love California, I practically grew up in Phoenix.**

Well after much debate, we have decided that Arizona is the place for us. (specifically Gilbert - Queen Creek suburbs of Phoenix)

When we were first looking to find a place to set up a practice, we took a map and drew a circle that represented 8 - 10 hours drive from Portland. And then we looked at all the possibilities that resided within that area. We weighed and discussed and even visited places. One after one we found that we didn't really like any of the places that we were looking at. A few weeks ago, we decided to expand the area to include all of the lower 48 states. And then quickly ruled out state after state. And the short story is that we started to look at Arizona, and found that it had more of the characteristics that we were looking for than many other places; and that it didn't have as many of the negatives that we were concerned with.

What I came to see is that (subconsciously) my DW, had always wanted to move back to AZ, and once the decision to do that was made, she became much less tense and much more calm.

We lived in AZ before, from 1995 to 2000, and loved it. We moved back to bring our son closer to his extended family. Which was a good thing at the time. And moving back to the Valley of the Sun, will not change the fact that we will see much less of our extended family. But sometimes that is what is needed. Sometimes it is a good thing. It was the last time we moved to AZ. And it will be again.

So now that we have the place, we need to work out the details to make it happen. The first one being getting down there. We are setting a date for the first of the year to make the transition.
