I was checking out an online
quiz that
vaxhacker put me on to and one of the questions was:
You're playing a high-level Fighter/Wizard. While on naval journey,your character (in full plate armor) falls overboard. Why can't youcast Water Breathing to save yourself?
Substitute 'Fighter/Wizard' with 'Paladin' and you would have Sir Reginald, my paladin. Who I like to think was 'training' on deck when a storm came upon them, rather than the actual facts which were that I forgot to tell the DM that I took off my armor and stowed it while on board. So when the storm came upon us, the DM (vaxhacker himself) causually asked me what Reg was wearing, and I quickly, without thinking about the circumstances, said that I was wearing my armor 'of course'. Luckily Paladins have an inside line to their dieties and mine made sure that Reg didn't pay the ultimate price for that blunder.

You know the rules well enough to get by at your average gaming table. You might confuse Color Spray and Prismatic Spray once in a while, but at least you're smart enough to recognize that fact. Chances are that you have a copy of the Player's Handbook lying around the house somewhere, and once in a while you even look inside. Good for you.
