its amazing how one day can be celebrated everywhere, without people even realizing what is being celebrated. Yes its the American tradition, football, beer, partying, but its also a time to spend with family and friends. Today I spent my superbowl Sunday with family and friends, and I have to tell you it beats partying it up in D town. You never really truley realize what you have, until you step back and take a look at the family and friends that surround you. NO, they may not be the leave it to Beavers, or the friends from the infamous show "friends" but they are yours. They are the crazy brothers who talk to you forever about their rock band, the one decided to start when they were 33, and how dissapointed they will be with you if you dnt come to their next show. ANd of course you are going to go, even though you dont like that type of music, because its your brother and you are happy that they are happy. Its the niece and nephews who are growing up before your eyes, the ones that you want to capture every moment of, because before you know it they will be too cool and too old to give Aunt Shannon hugs and kisses that you adore so much. Its the sister n law, who you finally feel that you are starting to have a relationship with, and it makes you so happy because she is part of your brother and your family too.

Then its on to those ever loving friends or yours. You know the ones who are there no matter what. The ones you could call up and tell them about your problems that seem so huge, but to them seem so minute, but they give a caring ear anyways because they love you. THe ones, that when you show up feed you with tacos and brownies and overstuff you even though you said an hour ago you were full. The friends that let you curl up beside them with a blanket and reminisce about what was going on a year ago this day and ponder what will be happening with you a year from this day.

They may not be the hollywood type families, the Waltons, more like the Roseanne family, and they may not be the Monica's and Chandlers, but they are what mmake up me, my family and friends, and I wouldn't trade anythign in the world for them. SO here is to Super Bowl Sunday. The day of Football, Famiy and Friends, the day that helps me realize how fortunate I am. I Love you guys:)
