Characters: Xander, Buffy
Timeline: Whenever
Fiddling with the keys in his pocket Xander found himself staring absentmindedly.
“Xander?” Buffy said after finally finding him.
Xander jumped. In the surprised movement he sent the china vase beside him flying. Buffy saw only a flick of movement and she caught the vase.
“I was about to say how are you…” Xander said, eyes fixed on the not broken vase. “But I see you’re better than good.”
“Slayer reflexes.” She shrugged. “You some bull in a china shop?”
Xander began to respond when he saw the demon behind her with long horns.
“No,” the demon said. “I am.”
Title: Lando to My Hans
Rating: G
Characters: Jonathan, Andrew
Timeline: Out on the lamb in Mexico
“You know,” Andrew said as he chewed. “Chinese food isn’t really authentic.”
Jonathan snorted. “Neither are your manners.”
Andrew paused and swallowed. “I just mean Mexican food isn’t.”
“Dude, we’re eating real Mexican food now.” Jonathan shook his head. “We’re in Mexico.”
Andrew said, ripping the corn tortilla in half. “If Warren was here, he’d know what I meant.”
“If Warren was here, he’d be ridiculing you as well.”
“You’re like the Lando to my Hans.”
Jonathan’s eyebrows shot up. “Lando?! No way. If anyone is, you are!”
Andrew would have responded, but he had bitten into a hot pepper.
Title: Remember China?
Rating: Slightly PGish
Characters: Spike, Dru
Timeline: Pre-series, After Dru gets sick in Prague
“Remember China?” Spike said, cooing softly.
Her skin felt colder than usual. As his fingers traced her skin he could feel the sickness vibrating through her body. She wasn’t doing well. Need to keep her here, Spike thought. “Remember the slayer I killed for you?”
“Remember the scar? You loved licking it?” Worry etched on his face, not a normal look for a vampire.
“Mother moon cries,” Her eyes were shut, voice suddenly clear from the incoherent muttering. Spike brightened, but she fell back to guttural sounds.
“I need you Dru,” Spike said. “Don’t leave me. Don’t ever leave me.”
