Traveling

Tomorrow I leave for Texas, I'm back on the third, then off to Minneapolis on the fourth for a week to meet my new grandson, perform a wedding, and hang out with family and friends.

Behave yourselves while I'm gone.

I like that you use the same verb for weddings as people use for exorcisms.

I also like the laughable idea that we would ever behave ourselves, regardless of your presence.

Have fun!

On further reflection, I think he made that half hearted request so that he wouldn't miss out on any fun. Although he doubtless will be behaving badly while out and about.

So behaving himself, in other words. Well, it's nice to know some things don't change.

...You know, you're right! Now, why on earth would my first thought have been exorcisms?

Are you familiar with the reverse exorcism? That's where you invoke the devil to get the priest out of your nine-year-old.

I thought the remedy was shameful tabloid coverage and a lot of choirboy jokes. But yours sounds more effective.

My entire household thinks this a grand statement.

We approve!
