Had a friend show up last week from Lubbock, Texas. We
played some traditional Irish music (she's a fiddle player) and
drank a lot. She had never had the experience of playing
traditional Irish music accompanied by a dumbek. Me, I need more
work on my slip jigs.
It was fun, and came at just the right time for me to
celebrate finishing Dzur.
I've sorta kinda a little bit started on another, but it's
too soon to say anything about it.
The whole Personal Assistant thing is working out really,
really well so far--there are several levels of things I can
stop worrying about, and they are just the sort of things that
interfere with my work.
At some point, I'll be having minor surgery to remove polyps
from my nose, which turned out to be the cause of those
recurring eye infections. With any luck, the surgery will be
scheduled at a time that allows me to attend Renfest in
Minnesota. We'll see.
