Checking In
Wow it's been almost a month since I posted. Strange.
So what's up. I finished sewing my skirt, a project for my learning-to-sew weekly class. It came out nicely, and now I'm starting work on alterations to a dress that's a little too big. That has proven to be far more stubborn, but the teacher has a lot of experience, so I will simply trust that she'll get me to a solution. She's been fantastic so far.
Today I have a sore mouth; dental work earlier today, which is ouchie but important. I still have another two or three sessions to go, too (sigh). Too hard to think about that while I still hurt.
I got a quilter's magazine, which has a bunch of projects that look gorgeous, and some of which aren't too hard. It'll be a while (months?) before I get around to quilting, but I'll get there eventually. I noticed that I am very fond of what they're calling "contemporary fabrics" - bold jewel tones, batiks, modern calico prints... as well as some of the pastels. Neat stuff.
I've done some house organizing; but not nearly as much as I would like. Not sure where my weekends went. I've also been practicing music; panflute, classic flute, singing. That's been fun.
I miss people - online chats, in person social times, etc., - but find I am often busy and often quite happy with the projects I'm working on, so I'm not making the time for it as easily as I might otherwise.
Overall life is going fairly well. I hope tonight brings good deep sleep; for this achy tooth is rather distracting and a night of good healing would help. My thoughts stopped making sense about an hour ago, so I suppose it's time.
