"What Imus did was bad" AND "but why do rappers talk about women like that?"
Why did the wild-haired, deeply-in-need-of-moisturizer, dried up, white, self-declared feminist activist ask me why the rappers say things as bad as Imus did and nobody complains? Not that she was saying that Imus was okay. "ANYthing said about ANY women that's NEGATIVE is NOT OKAY."

The poor postal clerk was worried I was gonna blow. I kept thinking there was no way I was gonna clock her one when I was in a federal building with 10 white folk in line behind me.
I was like, "People in the community have been upset with how SOME rappers denigrate women. One of us even went so far to buy enough stock in Time Warner so she could reprimand the board for putting out these records."
"But why do you think it keeps being produced? These rappers keep saying these things over and over again."
"Because white kids keep buying it."
And then she brought it back to rappers.
I'd never seen her before in my life!
Edit: Oh, yesterday, two white people were super decent to me. They let me skip ahead of them in line at the Home Depot as I had keys and they had groaning baskets. And they were old! So, two decent white people; one crazy white Activist.
Oh, look. I'm keeping score. :/
ETA2: And the thing is, I deliberately refrained from mentioning the B-ball team and IMUS on lj, because I'd seen and read of how fuckery ensued in the journals of poc who did mention it. And yet...Some would say, that I'd attracted fuckery to me because I had fuckery on my mind.
