Standing the test of time?

So, thanks to the magic of Netflix, I've been rewatching Highlander, the spin-off television series from the 1990s.  I remember LOVING this show when I was in high school.  It was syndicated, of course, so I could only view it sporadically, but I was just smitten with Adrian Paul, all the flashbacks, the sword fighting....(see previous post on The Three Musketeers)...it was something my mother and I watched together, as she revealed to me at this time her closet fantasy geek side.

But man, some of this show is just awful.

Tess, the female lead for the first season and a half, can't act.  Neither can Richie, the bumbling side kick.  The sword fighting...leaves something to be desired as well.  (I blame Faire for that; even though I don't do stage combat, I've become a bit of a "fake fighting" snob).

The cameos have been worth it.  Who knew Mr. Malfoy was going to make an appearance?  Or how about Nicholas from Forever Knight? (Another God-awful but loveable show from the same time period).

I'm hoping things improve as the production quality gets better.
