what pisses me off
parking in philly. not only is it extremely hard to find parking, but even when you do it could ruin your night.
two recent events:
#1- kane and i are at south street two or three weekends ago. we're parked right on south st. we park inbetween a set of cars and put money into the meter that would be ours even though it's right in the center of our car. when we get back there is a $20 ticket on the windshield saying the meter expired. we look at our meter and we still have 20 minutes on it! we find a cop and he tells us it wasn't our meter, our meter is ONE car ahead and all the cars are misaligned. so we look at that meter and guess what.. it has 40 minutes on it! all the meters surrounding us had time on them! the cop said he couldn't help us we'd have to sit around and wait for one of those damn meter maids. he agreed that we were in the right, but when we asked if we could get something in writing that he agreed with us to fight the ticket he basically told us no and wouldn't help us. just another way for the damn city to make money!
#2- dave parked on the road right outside our lofts. he parked in the center section in front of the gates where people always park. he got a ticket last night for $35 saying he was illegally parked. it said the curb was yellow (which it's not) and he couldn't park there. even the front desk tells visitors to park there!!
philly sucks when it comes to parking. even after you spend 30 mins to an hour looking, you're not safe! instead of worrying about dumb crap like this maybe they should try harder to get all the scum off the streets that are on killing sprees.
