This is the twenty-sixth Steampunk Nation mix, and it's for Allan Dale again. Maybe you remember him from one of the first mixes I posted here, or maybe you don't. Either way, he's a great character. A Colonist-turned-Republican-turned-Colonist again, he never seems to be without a grin. He has a strange ability to make friends with anybody, no matter what side they're on, and I think most everyone appreciates him for it.
"Nothing But A Song" -- Great Big Sea
But you never leave a love so rare,
you never leave a love so long;
remember that the life we share
is nothing but a song.

"When I'm Gone" -- The Click Five
When the lights are out,
don't be sad for long;
When I'm gone
and the lights are out,
I'll be shining on.
I'm just gonna let my life bleed on this letter,
let my song sing on forever.

"All My Days" -- Alexi Murdoch
Well many a night I found myself with no friends standing near
(all of my days);
I cried aloud,
I shook my hands;
what am I doing here?
All of these days.
For I look around me
and my eyes confound me
and it's just too bright
as the days keep turning into night.
Now I see clearly
it's you I'm looking for
(all of my days).
So I'll smile-
I know I'll feel this loneliness no more
(all of my days).
For I look around me
and it seems you found me
and it's coming into sight
as the days keep turning into night,
as the days keep turning into night.
And even breathing feels all right.

"Cuckoo" -- Lissie
I said, "I wanna try it all without regret:
I wanna meet the kind of folks I never met;
skipping school and smoking cigarettes."
We hadn't even really gotten started yet.
[...]
I fell in love with being defiant,
in a pickup truck that roared like a lion;
when you're with us,
you don't have to be quiet no more.
People said we'd have to make it on our own;
we never thought there'd be another hand to hold.
We didn't care, we never did what we were told:
they couldn't break us,
they could never turn us cold.
You and me, well, we were never growing old.

"Englishman In New York" -- Razorlight
And you can hear it in my accent when I talk:
I'm an Englishman in New York.
[...]
If "manners maketh man", as someone said,
then he's the hero of the day.
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile;
be yourself, no matter what they say.

"Please Speak Well Of Me" -- The Weepies
I've been away a year and a day.
You recognize love after the fact;
you did what you did and that was that.
Don't say words that you don't mean;
when I'm gone, please speak well of me.

"All I Want" -- A Day To Remember
Let's leave no words unspoken
and save regrets for the broken.
Will you even look back when you think of me?
All I want is a place to call my own,
to mend the hearts of everyone who feels alone.
Woah, you know to keep your hopes up high
and your head down low.

"The Hills of Ireland" -- Jeff Dana

"Gypsy" -- Shakira
Friends and thoughts pass me by;
walking gets too boring
when you learn how to fly.
[...]
I can't hide what I've done:
scars remind me
of just how far I've come.
To whom it may concern:
only run with scissors
when you want to get hurt.
'Cause I'm a gypsy;
are you coming with me?
I might steal your clothes
and wear them if they fit me.
I never made agreements,
just like a gypsy,
and I won't back down
'cause life's already bit me.
And I won't cry,
I'm too young to die
if you're gonna quit me,
'cause I'm a gypsy.
