Yabu: Okay, lets start this crosstalk!
Inoo: Please ignore the fact that Takaki isn’t here (laugh)
Hikaru: Yup. Takaki went out of the studio to make a call and while he was at it, they called us to inform us that the crosstalk will start.
Yabu: ….. But even so, without Takaki it isn’t complete.
Hikaru: BEST is made up of five of us after all
Yabu: Yup. If one piece is missing, the rest of us will be dispersed too. Actually by saying this, I am just honestly trying to increase the number of words in this interview (laugh)
Arioka: Okay, then let’s predict what kind of reaction Takaki will have?
Inoo: He will clap his hands together lightly and say “Okay, lets start!”
Arioka: I think he will say “Sorry sorry!” as he reaches the table.
Yabu: Ah, I think he will say that!
Hikaru: Then shall we wait for him in silence? (laugh) Ah, he’s coming!
Arioka: Sshhh! Everyone keep quiet, we have to be in silence!

Inoo: ………… We didn’t expect silence!
All 4 other than Takaki: Ahahaha! Unexpected!
Takaki: Eh, what… what is this about?
Hikaru: We were predicting what kind of reaction Takaki would have while joining this crosstalk halfway but we didn’t expect silence.
Takaki: I didn’t expect to encounter this small prank (laugh)
Inoo: This is BEST, using our calories on silly things. And if it is Wink Up, they will definitely use this as part of the crosstalk (laugh)
Takaki: So, today’s theme is?
Yabu: Episodes on when BEST is close, and when we are not.
Inoo: We always say “Lets have a BEST gathering soon” during crosstalks but we have not had one yet recently.
Yabu: Sorry to the Wink Up readers. That is our mistake!
All (together): Sorry!
Takaki: Why aren’t we having one?
Hikaru: The timing.
Takaki: Yup. As compared to before, our individual work has increased. So it has become harder to match our timings.
Hikaru: How about deciding now?
Inoo: If we decide on someone to take charge, and if that person says “Lets have a gathering”, will everyone come?
Arioka: I will go! If it isn’t too sudden!
Yabu: If you ask me before hand I will go too! But predicting the situation, someone will probably say “I cant make it on this day” and then this will be postponed for about another 2-3 months (laugh)
Inoo: 7 has many gatherings and you might be used to it but BEST doesn’t.
Hikaru: Yup. We keep talking about the same BEST gatherings so it feels that we have gathered a lot (laugh)
Yabu (in a cool voice): For us, it is quality over quantity.
Takaki: 7 will get angry if we say that our gatherings have better quality than theirs (laugh)
Arioka: When was the last BEST gathering? Thailand?
Yabu: Wasn’t it Saipan?
Takaki: BEST gatherings are really international (laugh)
Yabu: Five of us rode the tuk-tuk in Thailand! It’s a form of transport where you can sit behind a three-wheeled bike!
Hikaru: That was reaaaaaally fun!
Arioka: We broke up into different groups while returning to the hotel, but the tuk tuk which we rode on was really crammed and it was like we entered some dark neighbourhood. We wondered “Will we get back safely?” and we felt really worried.
Inoo: That was three years ago?
Arioka: Nope, way before. About 4-5 years ago?
Inoo: We can actually continue bathing in these memories from 4-5 years ago (laugh)
Yabu: That “BEST gathering in Thailand” was really fun
Arioka: We don’t have BEST gatherings now but we do normally go and eat with members.
Hikaru: Just now we had some time before the interview and I went with Dai-chan and Takaki to eat ramen.
Inoo: Ah, I don’t really go for such stuff.
Takaki: Speaking of that, we don’t really hear such episodes from Inoo-kun.
Arioka: Can’t you just go for a meal with Hikaru-kun or someone alone?
Inoo: Eh~ Just two of us?! That’s a great barrier to achieve.
Hikaru: Eh, I am okay with it though. Ino-chan, invite me anytime!
Inoo: I am happy that you say that but we meet so much already for work? It is true that we spend more time together than our family, but there are other people whom I have not seen for a long time okay? (laugh)
Hikaru: Didn’t we go snowboarding together before!
Takaki: I didn’t go for that. I was bad at socializing then (laugh)
Arioka: That snowboarding was fun..
Hikaru: But don’t you think it is because we spend such time together so we have this feeling of “understanding each other”, and something like a bond?
Arioka: I feel that too. The feeling of “being able to understand even if someone doesn’t say it out” has increased.
Hikaru: We actually felt that during our meetings for BEST corners for the concerts. We don’t have to speak a lot to understand what we wanted to do, and it was really smooth being able to decide (laugh)
Arioka: That’s right! And also during magazine photoshoots, we often split up as BEST and 7. And during such times, we finish the shoot much faster as compared to before.
Takaki: Previously our poses were all dispersed and even if everyone had a cool expression, there would always be someone who would be grinning (laugh)
Yabu: We have managed to focus on such times. In other words, we have become adults.
Hikaru: Just now we fooled around for the photoshoot too but we didn’t have to ask “what kind of pose should we do?” But we think “everyone should be doing this” and we just move according to our own thoughts.
Inoo: What shall we do if we see the next issue of WU and Hikaru is the only one who is making a funny face while the other four of us are having a cool face (laugh)
Yabu: It’s okay. I was behind Hikaru and pushing my way through too (laugh)
Hikaru: Somehow, it does feel like that. We feel that “BEST is on close terms” when we put in a lot of effort in our acts during the concerts. I think it is normal for a human to want to dance while looking cool but for five people to be united enough to put on a funny act with all our might? It was the time I felt “Five of us are kinda close” (laugh)
Inoo: Actually acting funny for me is…
Hikaru: Don’t lie. You are the one who was most hyped up about it (laugh)!
Inoo: Even the one who was cool at the beginning- Takaki, recently when we have our script done up, he immediately stands up and say “Okay let’s rehearse already!” (laugh)
Hikaru: So we all say “Okay why not we read the script together once more time?” and with that we try to calm Takaki down (laugh)
Yabu: Also on the day after our rehearsals for this, our throats always feel hoarse and it seems that we had really done our rehearsals in a loud voice (laugh)
Inoo: But for this year’s concert, BEST’s acting corner was gone.
Hikaru: Yup. Before the 10th anniversary, we wanted to show you the cool BEST. That’s our own thoughts.
Yabu: You have to see us as the elder brothers who love playing around, and also the guys who can be so cool (laugh)
Inoo: With that, shall we go for the cool route next year too? Or should we have a exceptionally grand act because it is the 10th anniversary? Everyone, please look forward (laugh)

Arioka: And also something that was a topic for 7 too. About the sushi location shoot in Itajump. After watching the introductory VTR, everyone had a cold expression (laugh)
Yabu: That’s obvious
Arioka: Well, I had already expected it when I heard about the contents of this (laugh)
Arioka, Inoo: It was really delicious!
Inoo: But I have a complaint regarding the staff of this show!
Takaki: Even though they let you go to such a great location shoot?!
Inoo: The act of the steak master which Dai-chan did on the location shoot was cut!
Arioka: You don’t have to purposely say that out! That was embarrassing (laugh)!
Takaki: …. but why was there such an act?
Arioka: I don’t know! After Ino-chan did it, he said “Dai-chan, do one of a steak master!” in a small voice.
Yabu: Was there steak among the options?
Inoo: Yes yes. That’s why we thought of it!
Arioka: I tried hard but that didn’t turn out well (laugh). And even so, they made me do it over and over again. In the end everything was cut and now even everyone in the country knows that this was cut out (laugh)
Hikaru: It is not like we are on bad terms but I have a complaint about Dai-chan!
Arioka: Eh, after an episode on how I failed, now you want to complain about me? (laugh) What is it?
Hikaru: Dai-chan introduced me a new game but he was really messy about it. He didnt say something like “This game is like this, and so you will definitely like such a genre”, but he just suddenly said “Hey hey, buy this game!” and that’s horrible (laugh). It’s like “Hey just buy this quick!” (laugh)
Takaki: He didn’t explain about the game at all?
Hikaru: Not at all. When I asked “what kind of game is that?” he just said “I saw it on a video website” (laugh)
Arioka: I know you will definitely be addicted to it. But I am bad at explaining so I thought you should just see it for yourself. But I know Hikaru’s preference in games so I thought he should have believed in me (laugh)
Inoo: Doesn’t Dai-chan have any complaints about others?
Arioka: Yes! Of Ino-chan after all! (laugh) When I go on location shoots with Ino-chan, he just fools around!
Hikaru: Ah, the gyutan location shoot?
Arioka: Yes, that! I was on that location shoot with Ino-chan and Hikaru-kun and Ino-chan started this weird act. We thought it was fun so the three of us started this kitchen act. It was funny at first, but gradually the director’s face got sterner (laugh)
Hikaru: And when we watched it on air, it ended up like that steak master (laugh)
Yabu: The one which I went together with him were mostly kids challenges so he doesn’t really fool around that much.
Inoo: I am basically quite serious ok! (laugh) But when I am with Dai-chan, I have this weird switch which is turned on.
Arioka: I see, it’s my fault…. hey! that’s not true!
Hikaru: During such times, you will understand when you see Ino-chan’s face. It’s obvious that he wants to start doing something (laugh)
Takaki: I had such an experience too. During a location shoot where a kid doesn’t like to eat eggplants. I had to cosplay as an eggplant and the two of them were giving instructions from another room (Inoo and Arioka). I already had a bad feeling about that and true enough, they were just fooling around (laugh)
Inoo: We said things like “Look at the camera and say "Nassungorerai!” (laugh)“ He did it so well (laugh)
Hikaru: Well, let’s have a talk on "how we get to be victims of Inoo’s acts” (laugh)
Arioka and Takaki: I agree!
Yabu: I haven’t experienced it yet though. (Sounding lonely) I wonder if I can avoid it…..
Inoo: I said already! I am basically quite serious! (laugh) It is just a coincidence that the three of you experienced it! And even so, it was cut out and that’s your own fault! Readers, don’t misunderstand me!
