Q1. Do you weigh yourself everyday?
Yabu: No, I only weigh myself when I suddenly think “Oh I haven’t weighed myself recently”, about once a month.
Hikaru: I do. I received a weighing machine from Ino-chan for Christmas and so I started weighing myself. My best weight is about 54-55 kg.
Takaki: I am on a diet now so I weigh myself everyday before my bath. So when I look at my weight and say “Ah, I ate too much today”, I will start reflecting (laugh). Other than when I am on a diet, I don’t weigh myself.
Inoo: No. I am not concerned about weight.
Arioka: No. I have a weighing machine at home but I only weigh myself when I feel like it. The last time I did was quite some time ago.
Q2. Is your walking speed fast or slow?
Yabu: Very very fast. If the map states that a 10 minute walking distance is required, I can finish walking in 6 minutes. When I was a student, I walked really fast in order not to be late so it has become a habit. I always live life on the edge (laugh)
Hikaru: If I don’t have to rush for anything, I am the slow type.
Takaki: I walk fast when I am alone. When I am with my friends, I match their pace naturally.
Inoo: I am not conscious of it myself but seems that I am slow (laugh). When everyone is walking, somehow when I realize it, I am the last one.
Arioka: My walking speed is the same as my pulse beat! So there are times where I am slow and fast too. With my tension at the point of time, and if I am excited I just end up walking fast. That is why it is the same as my pulse beat!
Q3. Are you good in “short distance sprinting” or “long distance running”?
Yabu: Definitely short distance. I hate being out of breath (laugh)
Hikaru: It used to be long distance but now it is short distance. I used to keep running long distances in school and I lost a lot of weight so I don’t think it is suitable for thin people.
Takaki: Long distance. I think I can easily run 10km. But even so, it is not that I am enthusiastic about wanting to run (laugh)
Inoo: I am bad at both so if I had to choose, short distance. Since I will embarrass myself, I want to do it in the shortest possible period of time (laugh)
Arioka: I don’t have stamina so short distance running. I think I am good at that.
Q4. What is the size of your personal space?
Yabu: 0cm. I am totally fine so feel free to come close to me. I will also forgive you if you put your hands around my shoulders. (laugh). But just don’t touch my face.
Hikaru: 1m. I am shy so it is more comfortable if there is a distance between us.
Takaki: Depends on the person. If I meet someone for the first time and the person suddenly comes close I will be shocked. Start from 1m first (laugh). If it is a girl I like, 0cm. Come and stick with me!
Inoo: I am not concerned about it. I am fine even if the person comes close. Even if the person sticks to me I do not mind (laugh)
Arioka: If we are good friends, I don’t mind even if I can feel the person’s warmth. It is the same with the members.
Q5. When you cook, do you just measure with your eyes, or precisely with a scale?
Yabu: With my eye. But even though I say so, I don’t cook at all.
Hikaru: Both. I measure with my eye when I cook but for dishes which I haven’t cooked for a long time, I measure them precisely. Recently I grill gyozas and gyutan, I do a lot of grilled food recently.
Takaki: Precisely. At the end I normally taste the food and change the taste to my own preference but at the beginning, I follow the recipe.
Inoo: Precisely. I don’t really cook so I think I will stick closely to the recipe so that I don’t fail.
Arioka: If I cook, I measure it precisely. I don’t normally cook so it is scary if I can measure something with my eye. But I collect kitchen goods though! (laugh) Thanks to Hirunandesu.
Q6. Your ideal bath temperature
Yabu: 42 degrees. It was 40 degrees at first, but I foresee that the water will cool down so I set it at 42 degrees. I spend about 15 minutes in the bathtub.
Hikaru: 41 degrees. I put in bath salts and spend about 10 minutes. It is the hay fever season so I like the smell of eucalyptus and cool fragrances.
Takaki: 42 degrees. I go into the bath tub shortly after the water cools down so it is probably a little lower. I only bathe in the bathtub during winter. I often just shower during summer.
Inoo: 41 degrees. It is not like I like it being hot but I want the bath to be a little warm. I can relax like that.
Arioka: 40 degrees. I am the type who soaks in the bathtub. When I don’t have time, I set it at 40 degrees for 10 minutes, when I want to soak long, I set it at 38 degrees for about 30 minutes. I don’t do anything but just meditate.
Q7. Without using the train or a car, how long can you walk?
Yabu: Anywhere. I like walking and if I have time and energy I can walk for about one hour. Previously, I was with Chinen and Sakuma, and during summer we walked from the port of Tokyo to Shimbashi. We just walked and that was a weird way of hanging out (laugh)
Hikaru: If I have time, I can walk anywhere.
Takaki: About 15 minutes. Previously I went with my friends to LA, and we walked to the beach nearby. It was quite a long distance but it was beside the sea so it felt good~
Inoo: 10 minutes. If it is a stroll I can walk longer, but if it was just to get from one destination to another, that is about my limit.
Arioka: 20 minutes. I quite like walking. When I have time, I listen to music while strolling. I shuffle the music on my music player and I like listening to songs which I don’t normally listen to.
Q8. If you could, who would you want to get closer with?
Yabu: Filippo Inzaghi. Although he has already retired, he has always been my favourite Italy soccer player. I admire him too.
Hikaru: I am not the kind who opens up to others, so I have never thought of forcefully trying to be closer to others. This is a special characteristic of a shy person (laugh). Someone whom I hope to get close with naturally is Maruyama-kun. The other day we went for a meal together and it was fun.
Takaki: Steve Jobs. He has a brain which is much different from mine and he is someone who thinks of different generations. I want to ask him many things.
Inoo: Oizumi Yo-san! I have liked him since before. His acting is good and his talk is interesting too. I want to be someone like that too.
Arioka: The uncle at the filming studio. I have known him for a long time and although we greet each other, he doesn’t open his heart to me so I want to be closer with him (laugh). He is often at the entrance and always in his own world.
Q9. A second date with your girlfriend. How long do you take before you hold hands?
Yabu: Five minutes. Firstly shake hands with her and say “Good morning” and from there I wont let go of her hand (laugh)
Hikaru: About one hour and a half. My ideal situation is to hold her hand naturally during the date.
Takaki: One minute. I think I would have already held her hand on the first date (laugh). So that one minute is for me to purposely ask her “Do you want to hold hands?” and for me to hear her answer of “I want to” (laugh)
Inoo: Immediately after we meet. Like “Okay lets go” and hold her hand. I don’t care about how others look at us, it’s a date (laugh)
Arioka: Second time right? So I want to hold her hand immediately~ Immediately after we meet!
Q10. You get worried when your mobile phone reaches how many %?
Yabu: 30%. I play games so it reaches 30% in a flash. I charge my phone twice a day.
Hikaru: When it reaches 10%.
Takaki: 20%. But i charge my phone when I cannot look at it during work so it is rare that my phone will go out of battery.
Inoo: When it reaches 20%, I get worried. But my phone often goes flat.
Arioka: 20%. It depends on the situation and rate of how the battery life depletes, but I charge my phone about once or twice a day.
Q11. Ideal height difference between you and your girlfriend?
Yabu: About 20cm? I want to rest my chin on her head (laugh). I am not really concerned about height difference though.
Hikaru: I am totally not concerned whether she is tall or short.
Takaki: About 10cm. The view seems just right.
Inoo: If she doesn’t mind, I wouldn’t mind any height difference too. Guys are unexpectedly unconcerned regarding this.
Arioka: None in particular. I am also fine with her wearing heels but I wonder if she will be concerned instead.
Q12. Your ideal percentage of a mixture of “cute” and “beautiful” in a girl
Yabu: Cute 70%, beauty 30%. Including her personality too, I think girls are better if they have a higher percentage of cuteness.
Hikaru: Cute 30%, beauty 70%. Basically reliable but also having a clumsy and cute side to herself occasionally. Such girls are good.
Takaki: Cute 70%, beauty 30%. Previously I wanted girls to be steady and reliable but now I think it is cute if they have clumsy sides to themselves too. I wonder if it is because I am growing old (laugh)
Inoo: 50% each. Think about it? If she has both cuteness and beauty?? Isnt that the best! (laugh)
Arioka: Cute 78%, beauty 22%. This is the golden percentage. For me, being cuter is good. For beautiful people to, I want them to have a cute part of themselves.
Q13. You receive a mail from a girl you like! Your speed of replying?
Yabu: 0 minutes basically. I reply mails the minute I look at them. But I don’t check them often so I am often slow in replying in that sense too (laugh)
Hikaru: Immediately. I don’t look at my phone that often. The other day when I went to eat, and when I looked at my phone after the meal, Maruyama-kun’s mail read “Are you all still there?” but I realized his mail was 2 hours ago. And I had to reply “sorry, it ended” (laugh)
Takaki: Within 30 seconds. I reply immediately after I read it. There is no point in delaying. Though if it is my friend, it is okay not to reply for the time being (laugh)
Inoo: I will reply at my own time convenience. I don’t want to force myself to reply immediately and I also do not think of tactics like “I will reply after making her wait for a while”. But I do hope she replies my mails immediately (laugh)
Arioka: I am not conscious of this. I reply when I see the mails.
Q14. Your mental age now?
Yabu: 26 years old. I have a childish side so including that, I think it suits my age.
Hikaru: I haven’t change since I was 20 years old. But it seems that the inside of me is like an old man ever since before. I am not the type to make a lot of noise, so I am like an old man who occasionally fools around (laugh)
Takaki: 25 years old. Somehow it suits my age. I want my emotions to always stay young but I also want to grow mentally according to my age.
Inoo: I am sure there are people who think of my mental age as very low (laugh), but actually it is neither high or low… about the same as my actual age.
Arioka: 16 years old. I get excited when I see capsule machines and even now I stop in front of them!
Q15. You are attracted to “limited quantity” or “large servings”?
Yabu: I love large servings. I normally order those and the ramen I ate yesterday was also a large serving. In the past I wouldn’t grow fat no matter how much I eat but recently I have gained weight so I will take caution.
Hikaru: I am a small eater so I wont be able to finish a large serving, so, limited quantity. The effector for my bass which I am using for concerts now isn’t limited but I don’t see it around normally so I buy it in large quantity.
Takaki: Large serving. I normally eat averagely but for cup noodles, I choose large servings.
Inoo: I am a little attracted to limited stuff. But I am not the type who has a collection.
Arioka: Limited quantity. Rather than eating in quantity, I want to eat different types of things.
Q16. Do you do astronomical observation?
Yabu: Yes. I have been to the astronomical observatory because I like looking at stars. Once when I was walking with my friend, I suddenly said “The stars today are pretty. That is Sirius” and he laughed at me and said “Huh? Whats wrong with you suddenly?” (laugh)
Hikaru: Yes. I use a rifle scope which I use for survival games to look at the moon. The scope can look at objects 100m away and I can see the holes in the moon and it was really beautiful.
Takaki: It is not really astronomical observation but I look at the stars. I grew up in the countryside and when I came to Tokyo I realized that I couldn’t see the stars.
Inoo: I like gazing at the stars from the window but I don’t do astronomical observation.
Arioka: Yes. The other day I went with my friend to see the starry sky and we saw three shooting stars. It was just nearby but unexpectedly we could see it beautifully.
Q17. Your favourite “long” item
Yabu: Expiry dates. Because I often put food in the fridge and forget about it.
Hikaru: Bass. It is longer than the guitar. I can walk straight across the door with my guitar but with my bass I have to be careful as it would strike the door.
Takaki: The sea and the coastline. I feel calm when I look at the sea for a long time.
Inoo: A burdock (laugh). I answered this in a flash. There aren’t many such long vegetables. That self egoism it seems to have is awesome! A nonconformist among the vegetables!
Arioka: The time for music programs. They allow us to sing for a long time and they let us talk a lot too so I am happy. The time used for location filming too. There is a schedule document and the longer it is, the better. I guess we are happy when they don’t cut out the scenes after all.
Q18. Are you patient or impatient?
Yabu: It depends on my condition but I am often impatient. I don’t get annoyed but if the situation continues I would want to change my environment.
Hikaru: Patient I guess. The other day I went with my friend to eat and they took so long to serve us the dishes one by one. But we bore with it and only after an hour of conversation we said “Did they forget our order?” (laugh)
Takaki: Patient. Though probably people will think I am impatient (laugh) but firstly I don’t get angry.
Inoo: I guess I am patient. When my opinions clash with someone, I don’t get angry but listen to what the other person has to say first. I think it is important to accept a different opinion from mine.
Arioka: Patient. I don’t get that annoyed and don’t shout out like “Uwah!!”
Q19. The most patient person in JUMP
Yabu: Keito. He doesn’t get angry at all. But I hope he will stop shaking his legs.
Hikaru: Keito. I used to go to Keito’s house and when I say “Lets go and eat” we only start moving one hour later. Both of us are slow paced.
Takaki: Keito. I haven’t seen him getting angry before. He looks irritated sometimes but he doesn’t really show it.
Inoo: Chinen. Because he is kind. I am kind too though! (laugh)
Arioka: Keito. I haven’t seen him getting angry.
Q20. The most impatient person in JUMP
Yabu: Hikaru. He doesn’t like inefficiency and when time is being wasted, he starts to get irritated. During such times, I try not to go near him (laugh)
Hikaru: Yuto I guess. Sometimes I talk too fast and he gets irritated (laugh)
Takaki: Yuto. When something doesn’t make sense he will immediately ask why. It isn’t a bad thing though.
Inoo: Hikaru I guess. I often see him getting irritated. But it is important that he doesn’t show anger on his face.
Arioka: Yuto. He is honest to himself. That is Yuto’s good point too!
Q21. Something you are proud of yourself for being fast in!
Yabu: Drinking milk. During school lunches, I think I could drink the bottled milk in less than two seconds. When I was in elementary school, I tried appealing to myself by drinking 3 bottles. Even though I didn’t like it that much (laugh)
Hikaru: Clearing games. I can clear RPG games in one or two days.
Takaki: Preparation. I leave my house 10 minutes after I wake up. I get out of bed, shower, wear my clothes and go out!
Inoo: It is unexpected but I am fast in eating! I gobble up delicious food.
Arioka: The time from when the alarm clock starts to sound and stop. I am so fast as if someone was going to attack me! I normally have two alarm clocks with loud alarms, and I set my phone alarm too. But I can stop the alarm even if I don’t look at my phone.
Q22. Something you are slow in no matter how you try to hurry
Yabu: Time for preparation. During concerts I often don’t start even when people get worried and say “You haven’t started preparing?” but I calculate the time properly so it is alright. I often dash out the minute I finish preparing.
Hikaru: I am probably slow in eating. I am fast when it comes to set meals but when the dishes come out one at a time I am slow. I am the type who wants to put all the dishes together and randomly enjoy all at the same time. I think my way of eating is like a girl (laugh)
Takaki: I am bad at remembering names and faces. Even though I can remember the face, I cannot recall the name.. and vice versa. That is hard for me.
Inoo: I take a long time to finish magazine interviews (laugh). Because I often digress and waste time talking about things not related to the theme. But putting me back on track is the skill of the writer (laugh)
Arioka: Bath. I take longer than the people around me. I will not give in to not putting shampoo and treatment!
Q23. How many % for a chance of rain will you only bring out your umbrella?
Yabu: 60%. It is troublesome carrying an umbrella around and I am also prepared to be drenched in the rain while playing soccer (laugh). In the worst case, I buy a plastic umbrella, but I lose it soon…
Hikaru: I bring out my folding umbrella if the forecast if above 60%.
Takaki: 100%. In other words, if it is not raining when I leave my house, I don’t bring one out. It is troublesome. In the first place I don’t have an umbrella at home (laugh)
Inoo: I don’t bring one out regardless of the forecast %. It is troublesome carrying out an umbrella. I think most guys are like that.
Arioka: I basically don’t carry an umbrella. I am not concerned about the rain. Even if the forecast shows a 50% chance of rain, I think there is still a possibility that it will not rain.
Q24. Where does spring rank among the four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter?
Yabu: First. I don’t get hay fever. Spring brings warmth and everyone around is happy. I like cherry blossoms too and I always check out the blooming forecast.
Hikaru: Ever since I got hay fever it is the last. I like cherry blossoms, sweets with pastel colours and spring scenery but I hate hay fever!
Takaki: Third. First is summer and second is autumn as there are many delicious food. Rather than the cold winter, I prefer spring so it is third.
Inoo: Second. First is autumn. Seasons where it isn’t too hot or cold are good. I do go out in summer and winter but there are many troublesome areas.
Arioka: Second I guess. After summer. The cherry blossoms bloom in spring and I like how it feels very Japanese.
Q25. Where do you go on an ideal spring date?
Yabu: Cherry blossom viewing. Strolling and looking at the cherry blossoms with a dango in one hand, I think that’s the enjoyment of spring.
Hikaru: Cherry blossom viewing spots. I haven’t been to a spot where there are cherry blossom trees lined up on both sides so I want to go. I also feel like eating icecream. Vanilla flavor!
Takaki: Cherry blossom viewing. I don’t usually do that but for a date, it seems enjoyable to stroll leisurely.
Inoo: Since it is spring so cherry blossom viewing, it feels cheerful! (laugh)
Arioka: Ride a houseboat that passes under the cherry blossoms. I haven’t been on one before so I am interested. Since it is spring, the wind will feel comfortable.
