Woke up this morning with a Republican governor, senator, county commissioner, congressman, attorney general, secretary of state and treasurer.

American politics confuses the bejesus out of me, why is everyone so down on Obama/Democrats all of a sudden? He was he second coming 2 years ago!

Because the ball-less Democrats couldn't counter the enthusiasm of the crazies. The divide in this country has become substantially worse since Obama got elected. It's no longer a fringe belief that he's a mysterious "other" (he's not actually American, he's a "Kenyan anti-colonialist" or "secretly" a Muslim, i.e. coded racist terms). Most of all that he's a socialist who will steal all your money; that's the fear tactic they've used the whole campaign season, because of the economy and the unemployment rate. We just elected a bunch of incompetent social conservatives who say they'll cut all spending and that GOVERNMENT IS BAD AND SCARY. So why the hell are they all running for office?
How so many people (voters AND politicians) have embraced and fuckin' promoted that kind of bigotry makes me incredibly sad.
