I'm not sure why I do this, but whenever I think of it, I look for the newspaper reviews of Justin's shows in whatever city he happens to be in. I was just reading the Atlanta
review, and I very much agree with this:He is utterly transfixing to watch - his motions look less like reactions to the music and more like extensions of it.
Well put. I'm ready for another one. The Cincinnati show's really not that far away. Also? T.I. was there, and I'm very, very jealous of the people who got to see that. It says he was just there for "My Love" and left, but still.
I enjoy the arena show, but I really wish next time around that he would expand the club tour. Arenas just aren't my thing. It's too much...stuff. Lights, video screens, dancers. Maybe I'm just too used to seeing shows at
Bogarts. It'll be a cold day in hell if he ever plays Bogarts, so I'm not waiting for the impossible. But after seeing him at the New Daisy in Memphis, I know I'd much rather see him play venues like that. I'd just rather not drive the 7 hours.
Speaking of Bogarts, I'm going to see Gym Class Heroes with K-Os & P.O.S. on Sunday. I'm excited, 'cause I haven't been to a hip-hop show in far too long. Last one was...The Roots, and that was way back in July. I saw Talib Kweli & Hi-Tek at the re-opening of Fountain Square in October, but that doesn't count. They only played for about 30 minutes 'cause it was so damn cold.
I'm in love with Tasha & Alice on The L Word. Rose Rollins is hawt, man. And they're hot together.
I got a record that I bought on eBay in the mail today, and it was completely cracked down the middle. I could tell something was wrong before I even opened it because the package was kinda bent down the center. I buy a lot of vinyl on eBay, and that's never happened to me before. Ooh, I was so mad. It's a record from 1956 (Bill Doggett, anyone? ...no? didn't think so), and it is was in almost perfect condition. I was so excited about it. sdglja;dsg. I'm so mad.
My cat is completely zonked out in the middle of my bed (I don't think I've ever typed the word 'zonked' before in my life), and I don't have the heart to move her. I'm pretty damn comfortable in my recliner right now, though, so I'll just sleep here. *yawns* Night, y'all.
