Kimya Dawson, another one of my favorite singers, has come up with an idea for the teenagers affected by Hurricane Katrina. She's suggested everyone go through their music.. find stuff they don't listen to anymore. Donate it. Donate walk-mans, radios.. anything.
This idea, which I think is pretty amazing, is to give these kids music. Music helps so much with things.. Granted it won't bring their house back, but it'll make them feel like someone cares, and come on.. when hasn't music helped us through a hard time?
Anywho.. if you're interested in donating music.. (Sky Salt, this goes for you too..) let me know. I'll pass along the information to you, for the woman who has agreed to take these donations to the teenagers herself.. personally. For this, I salute her and note her as an amazing woman.
