I'm watching The Wire, one episode per day over lunch. Fabulous stuff, but it reminds me of The Bill when I first began watching that way way back. I need subtitles!
Into the third season now. I guess that gives me a month or so of rationed episodes.
Painters are just finishing on the last touches. We had to interrupt to get new gutters, and what with one thing and mother, it's been a bit of a saga. We also had some people round to remove asbestos from the fence that is mostly held up by ivy. One more day, and all the work should be complete. At least until we get someone in to fix the ceiling. And put in new carpet, replace the old electric oven with gas, install a new bench and a few other things. May take years.
I'm a sucker for stationery. Levenger Circa has a new system, designed by Julie Morgenstern, and I'm into it. Dug out my old leather folder, slotted in the new stuff, bought a pen refill, and I'll get all those jobs dome that he been piling up.
The novel is cranking along. I had an idea of the next chapter, and I'd blocked out a bit of conflict, but then I got to thinking about the chapter after that. Which was more interesting. So I combined the two. There's five characters and a dog to keep track of in two locations, and it could definitely use more work, but I think I've got the guts of it. I'll post it up tomorrow.
I absolutely nailed dinner tonight. Four pans, all coming together at the right moment, lovely mix of tastes and textures, spices and flavours. My air fryer makes the most fabulous chips, but I've got to be careful with adding ground up chilli or parsley at the last moment lest it become little burnt dots on the potato surface. Only takes a minute.
