Click to viewI never thought that I would ever watch a Soap Opera on TV. Soap Operas are known for campy acting and crazy situations. However, I was lured into watching the Soap Opera One Life To Live. It all began with "Kyle and Fish." (You can look up Kyle and Fish on Youtube). Oliver Fish is a police officer. In college, he secretly had a gay relationship with his fraternity brother Kyle. Something happened and Fish went into the closet and broke up with Kyle. Years later Kyle and Fish meet up again and all sorts of drama happens... Longing, lust, denial, pushing away, straight or gay questioning, a girlfriend beard, begging, anti-gay parents, etc.
Now the infamous mean lady of Soap Operas, Dorian Lord, is running for Mayor. In front of news reporters on live TV, she announces that she is a lesbian and intends to marry her partner in front of a crowd of media. Of course, all of this is filled with lies and in reality Dorian said she was a lesbian in a spur of the moment act to gain gay voters.
Upstairs in the house, Tea and Blair are arguing over a serious matter. What happens next is one of the most outrageous scenes in all of Soap Opera history. Literally, I was laughing out loud at the over-the-top craziness. Horror movie scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis cannot top this! Fast forward to 2:00.
