Somber

So I'm in a pretty lousy mood these days, not sure why. Not in a pissy mood, or an angry mood, but the kind of mood that I like to listen to slow songs that bring about a sort of melancholy to them. So here's a list I thought up as depressing songs:

Sober by Tool
-it just sounds like he's on the verge of breaking down, talking in his mind about what is pushing him, and finally asking in vain questions to god as to why things are the way they are

Hurt by NIN, redone by Johnny Cash
-either one singing it is depressing, yet neither is more than the other, one by someone that is on the verge of the end at a young age, before his time and seeing the end coming, the other by an old man that knows the time is close, and looking back upon his life and wondering how it all came to how it is

Tears in Heavin by Eric Clapton
-a man getting a glimse of seeing his son one last time, but he knows he can't stay, he's not meant for such a grand place as heaven, he doesn't belong there, I feel the same way when I see someone with a happy family enjoying a dinner at a restaurant, a glimpse of something I could never have because I just don't deserve to be apart of something such as that

Behind Blue Eyes by The Who
-classic "poor me, I'm so sad" song, but the key here is the part where he tells someone to keep him from becoming too happy, do drugs, whatever, to save him from himself because he is self destructive and can not stop himself

I just Want You by Ozzy Osbourne
-there's a message in there, listen to it and see if you can find out why its depressing
Don't Follow by Alice in Chains
-Grunge and blues song from the tragic Layne Staley, leaving a message to his party buddies

Epiphany by Staind
-my life from age 16 to about a year ago(21), though it no longer holds true to me today, it reminds me of the wasted time by which I lived
