I'm feeling super busy these days, with way too many projects pulling at me. It's all fun stuff, luckily. I do feel better since I canceled any expectation of additional fursuit stuff ready for Anthrocon. I would have loved to have something for the boy but it's not a bit deal.
I did start a big ol' project plan for BM projects, because I need to start ordering all kinds of goodies. I've sketched final plans for anything furry so I can order from DF this month with the 25% off coupon, and before they raise their fur prices. I'm going to awash in sparkle fur! I cannot wait to see that glittering in the sun.
In addition to BM projects I added art status to the plan, including a badge trade (you know who you are). I'm at the finished sketch phase with most work right now, but expect an art dump in a couple weeks when I'll have badges and ref sheets to share!
Anyhoo, other than that life is busy. Boy and I went to find used bikes last weekend and visited a new little shop called "Hello Bicycle". They didn't have anything suitable ready to go, but they guy pulled down a couple used frames that would be the right sizes for us and is currently building them up! I didn't even know anyone did that, but it was perfect. All we want are a couple steel-framed, used road bikes that we can ride around town with. They need to work, and they need to not look completely dorky, but we wanted something we could lock up in front of a bar and not sweat about. These, if we like them when they're finished will be perfect! Mine is turquoise :D I'm thinking yellow handlebar tape, hee.
I'm also trying really hard to lose weight right now. The boy and I really love food, and have enjoyed the culinary delights of Seattle to excess since we started dating. I was slim and in good shape a couple years ago--for the first time ever!--but it didn't last long :( So I'm working on that, with a goal to "look hot" (or hotter, harhar) by Burning Man. I'm focusing on food and bodyweight exercises right now (push-ups, squats, lunges, etc), stairs, and in a couple weeks I'll add sprinting and heavier weight lifting. As for diet, I'm following the Primal Blueprint. I've cut out grains and most sugar entirely at home and restrict them a lot when I go out (the occasional delicious tortilla chip does pass my lips). I am eating lots of meat and fat, though, which is tasty and involves lots of experimentation. I had oxtail for the first time last weekend and it was delicious. Anyhow, if you're curious about this
visit Mark's Daily Apple. I highly recommend reading up on the basics if you're interested in nutritional science at all--the man knows his shit and backs it up. I have become a complete nerd for this stuff.
