Lazy, food-filled weekend
The boy and I had a very relaxed weekend. We both worked from home (well, local coffee shop) on Friday, then stayed up super late playing SNES. We dug out our old consoles recently and I'm kind of obsessed with finishing Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo--I finished all the regular levels back in the day, but never did find all the secret exits and such. There are at least 20 that I never found. So, being impatient, we spent part of the evening using walkthroughs online to find a bunch of them :D I'm too damned old to figure that crap out myself, I have a job!
Yesterday we slept in crazy late and didn't really get going until the afternoon. We ended up going to a tasty Mexican place for happy hour eats and margaritas, after which we couldn't drive home, so we went to a nearby dog-friendly bar and had a beer and hung out with DOGS. There was a Great Dane right next to us at the bar. He was gorgeous and SO derpy and sweet. After beers we went to the co-op in the neighborhood, got a baguette and some unfamiliar cheeses, then taxied home for a cheese-tasting dinner and wine. Yes, we drank all afternoon and into the night. It was lovely. Tried to watch Sherlock Holmes but fell asleep full of cheese.
Today was equally laid-back. Hung out in the morning, had chocolate croissants, went to the farmers' market for eggs and flowers, then walked to where we'd left the boy's truck the day before. It was a rather long walk, but fun! Super windy though, it's been stormy in Seattle. Anyhoo, picked up the truck, came home, made delicious bacon-zucchini-Gruyere quiche, and have been hanging out since.
I drew a bit, cooked a bit, drank a lot, played video games, enjoyed the neighborhood. Good times. I'm glad I got to relax this weekend, I'm going to be busy busy this week. I signed up for a month-long class at the gym called "Total Body Makeover". It appears to be ass-kicking. Ugh. But I've been putting off losing the weight I gained last year and getting back in shape for AGES, and this is my punishment! Hopefully it will be a good pain...
