Losing a friend is never easy, not matter the nature of the loss. We have all lost friends to time, distance, personal growth and, all too often, death. The last hurts so much due to the finality, the lost chance to experience the energy that made up the friendship.
As we continue on, we find solace with those left behind. We each cling to the bit of energy bestowed on us by the Lost. Each moment we had with the missing friend was an opportunity to collect our own bit of his or her energy. Each of us share this energy to build into a foundation to sustain us until we find our own strength, be it days or years later. The Lost’s energy gives us strength to find joy in the memories we have and one day we make that energy our own. In this way our friend’s energy never burns out, it glows on through each of us who cherish it.
