EXPECTATIONS:

I have arranged to not go to nevada to meet Dhugal because I am involved in this opensource ecology shop construction project.

Refrigerator. Should I replace the compromise represented by my tiny and barely utilized tiny ~3 cubic foot refrigerator with a full size RV (or compact conventional) model? I have had a note for a long time to do it but it'll be $300-$800 depending on the choice. I'm reluctant, its not important right now with my living situation as most food is stored in my mother's refrigerator.

Computer. My computer is... well, it is adequate for now. But it IS feeling the strain of the telecommuting work that I'm putting on it, mostly cpu bound but memory is cramped too. Upgradeing the memory would be ineffectual as I already have 3GB on a 32 bit machine, so the option is to replace the mainboard and cpu with a modern quad-core. (~$500-$800) Or should I continue along as a compromise on what I have? If this system completely fails, will I be able to do my job and bring home money?

I am following my rule to maintain liquid reserve at around $1K in checking+cash for intra-week emergencies and requirements, but expenses are keeping me well away from that.

I have long time planned on going to Feral!, the summer camp convention up in canada, but haven't been saving for it. I am going to use credit to go to Feral!

I am saving for next years vacation and it is going well, with the save as you go augmenting my weekly $25.
