Sleepless In The Battle

I had to do three 12 hour night shifts over the bank holiday weekend, which was nobody's fault, really. But I didn't make things easy for myself this weekend. I finished my week of night shifts at 8 am on Saturday morning, then Barry and I went to B&Q to get a strimmer and hedge trimmer to sort out our much-neglected garden. After that the guys came over for the crucuial end to our current D&D adventure. I usually opt out of gaming sessions if I've just got back from work but I couldn't afford to miss out on the experience points as I'm already falling behind the rest of the party. My grit and determination were rewarded with the death of my character. My lack of sleep led to some questionable combat decisions and I kept forgetting what my skills did.

After that, there was a BBQ/house party at our place. It was all arranged very last minute but I found myself surprisingly alert throughout. I even managed to keep my Rock Band skills at a sufficient level to play the bass and sing at the same time. Have a bit of a tidy up after the guests leave and 6 hours of sleep later, I'm back at work. I volunteered to cover the day shift today because somebody's on holiday and I need the overtime. Looks like I'll have to wait a while to collect said overtime, because they've started locking the room where they keep the shift premium claim forms.

I was supposed to be performing at an open mic night at After Office Hours in Barnet tonight, but yesterday I forgot and agreed to fix my parents fax machine after work tonight. Hopefully a solution to my dilema will present itself/be provided for me by the end of my shift.

On another matter, has anyone else here noticed the number of similarities between Batman and Darkwing Duck?
