It's been an especially busy time for me these past couple of weeks. Least of all doing back to back weekend shifts at work (one days, one nights), but on Saturday March 29th of this year I finally moved out of my parents' house! They're selling the house in a month so there was an element of urgency about it (rats, sinking ship, there's an analogy in there somewhere), but this move was long overdue. My 2 friends Barry and Stuart and I now share a 3 bedroom terraced house in High Barnet and we couldn't be happier. Of course, the place won't truly feel like home until we get our 16MB broadband connection activated on Monday but we do have a Wii, PS3, Sky and a pool table to keep us going until then.
But living away from home just doesn't feel real. I still have the feeling that I'll only get to enjoy it while it lasts, even though this is my life from this day forward. We had our housewarming party on Saturday night, and it was a roaring success by all accounts. (Almost) everybody enjoyed themselves, (almost) everybody behaved themselves, nothing was broken or stolen, and we now have enough tortilla chips to see us through the Winter. I took all the empty bottles and cans for recycling the next day and while it was good for the environment, the boot of my car now smells like Lindsey Lohan exploded in it.
So, if anybody wants to come by and check out my new lodgings (which my housemates and I have dubbed "The House Of Epic Win"), just let me know and we can sort out a date and time. If I'm feeling creative, I might even cook you something.
There were so many songs I could have used to commemorate this momentous occasion, but I think I made the right choice. What do you think?
