In Response:

My apologies for making so many assumptions…I will now list the assumptions that I made:

1.) I assumed that all Sigma members would follow Sigma policies by not consuming a drop of alcohol during formal or being clearly intoxicated at formal.
2.) I assumed that the Sigma members would not condone the use of alcohol by underage persons of both the sorority and the fraternity during the formal.

Regardless, I don’t care who was drinking or wasn’t drinking, the issue is that drinking took place before and during the formal and is against Sigma policy which we should all abide by. Saint or no saint, don’t justify the actions of others who selfishly stain the image of the sorority.

Now to respond to what you (Sutapa) said:

“you are basically if not directly causing problems that shouldn't exist”
--these problems were not caused by me, however by the actions of those who chose to violate Sigma policy as well as Alaska State Law DURING A FORMAL GATHERING.

“it's not a whole sorority issue, its with those members who were drinking.”
--the actions taken by the sorority members clearly affect the entire sorority and thus is a sorority issue.

“you are not a saint nor are any of the girls in the sorority.”
--I’ve already addressed my issues of sainthood, and I think you’ll notice that if you read the last paragraph of what I wrote in my previous post more closely. Regardless, mistakes were made and the sorority should not tolerate stuff like this.

“as for the formal committee not staying. I'm sorry I don't live in the dorms. I have parents who I must comply with and mandie was my ride back to campus.”
--If you can’t follow through with your commitments that you’ve made, don’t make them.

“that would be an issue for her to bring up, which she didn't.”
--I see this as potentially a problem because sorority members seem to not bring up things that are problems and just let them slide. I am sorry that I stood up for Carlise, perhaps in the future I should not be as supportive of my sisters.

I just want the best for the sorority, and I don’t understand why that’s such a foreign concept to some of you.
