But I'm in this show for the emotional aspect, so I'm glad the secret was more intregal to that than the mytharc which could go...anywhere.
WORD. The secret isn't about some elaborate twist that OMG SAM IS NOT A WINCHESTER but about them as brothers, as a family. And I love that about the show. How very Supernatural that the secret isn't anything to do with the plot, but everything to do with the emotional aspect of the characters.
However, the mytharc does seem a bit all over the place at the moment. I mean, the "mother burning on the ceiling" was a great visual and great pattern, and doing away with that was...I don't know. I felt a bit cheated in Simon Said when they revealed there is no pattern after all, and even more confused now. I do have the feeling from interviews and other things that Kripke & co have a plan, I just hope they execute it well. And that when all is revealed, it wouldn't contradict with things that happened in, say, Season 1.....*is worried*
I heard some people thought it was OOC for the boys.
It's not their usual behaviour, no. But it's in character BECAUSE they're both panicking!
YES. I know the whole proving him right thing, but DUDE, IT'S SELF-DEFENSE! Plus, I'm scared of this turning into Saint Sammy.
Exactly. On one level, it makes sense that Sam would rather do anything OTHER THAN proving Gordon right because he must be scared shitless himself about "going darkside". But oh, the possibilities! I can see Sam doing what's necessary when the situation is dire - heck, he looked ready to shoot JOHN in Devil's Trap. Right circumstances, he would probably do it. I really, REALLY hope that we would get that at some point during the series.
I don't really want to see Gordon return too!! I thought I was the only one, because everyone seems to love him as a villain. I do, too, but once is enough, like you said.
