I couldn't resist reworking the first drawings I did of Moss and Virgil so the clothes were more Victorian (they did wear undershirts, right? Maybe not of cotton jersey, but still. I think the guys in "Deadwood" wore them all the time). It's hard to edit without losing something; I think both drawings lost some of their expression. Sigh. But the hair makes more sense, and Virgil needed a little nose-job anyway. And I'm definitely going to have to find reference pictures of cravats and ascots because I don't know what I'm doing when I try to draw them.
I have a DA account under another name; I use it to collect other people's stuff and that's all. I hadn't drawn enough lately to take it seriously. Everything I've posted on photobucket is most of what I've done in the past twelve months, not counting the pages I've used up in the little sketchbook. That's why this is definitely not some misguided attempt to get you to write more: I'm just reveling in my own inspiration. I can hardly believe I'm drawing this much and I'm still happy doing it. It's been a long, long time since I felt like I could draw anything and it would be all right. Since I was a kid drawing horses, and it was a miracle if it looked like a horse head and not a pinto bean with ears.
There's more to come. I've got ideas for Francis; I think he's a smug, wiry bastard who waxes his moustache. And Kurtz too. The 'looked like an angel' combined with his other attributes makes me think of him as blond with slicked back hair, blue eyes (kinda squinty) and a Cupid's bow mouth in a perpetual sneer. Maybe with a scar on his upper lip, so the uninitiated could think "oh, it's just the scar", but no, he really is sneering at you. All the time. And he'd be older, so the features that would have been fine ten years ago have all deepened into fleshy harshness.

Well, I'm reveling in your inspiration too. ^_^ It's one of those things, I think, that can be contagious. :D I may not be working on this story, but it makes me want to work on other stories. You do more than just draw a character, you give them personality with their expressions and their poses, and it makes me itch to want to write different characters and see if I can make them as rich with words as you do in your drawings. ^_^;;
I so, SO look forward to seeing who you draw next (whether it happens to be modeled after a character of mine or not.) ;D And I love the way you describe Francis. XD *tackle hearts*

I'm re-learning hands and learning clothes for the first time as I go. I finally had to declare these done for now, because I couldn't erase and re-draw anymore.
