List 5 reasons why you are a dork. Explain them. Then tag 5 people to do the same. Go!
1. Fandom. Any fandom I've ever been in, take your pick. I think the number of hours I've spent discussing, rationalizing and analyzing characters from such gems as Power Rangers or Digimon or Harry Potter qualifies me to at least be counted among the alumni (er...or maybe I'm still taking classes?) at Dork U.
2. I love watching shows (be they cartoons, movies or weird mini-series) that were meant for people about 15 years younger than me. I'm addicted. Granted, I'm not going to go out and watch Shark boy and Lava girl, but I do have Matilda, Labyrinth, Milo and Otis and half a dozen Disney flicks and pixar movies that I will watch over and over and over again without ever getting sick of them. And when having serious conversations with people, I will inadvertantly attempt to prove my point by bringing in references from these shows or quoting things from them that I think fit. As a result, I don't think I'm always taken very seriously. XD
3. I spend more money on books than on any other frivolity. The average age of the clothing I own is at least three years old. The last time I willingly went clothes shopping and actually bought something was Christmas (and it was a pair of jeans bought with giftcards I'd gotten for Christmas). I feel that I don't have enough money for a haircut or clothes or anything that would actually make my apartment look less like someone doesn't give a damn what it's decorated as. And then I'll turn around and dump sixty bucks on hardback novels. If I won the lottery, I'd buy a library. *is so not joking*
4. My idea of a fun Friday is spent at home, with hubby, curled up with a story to work on or a good book to read. I don't do clubs, parties, or situations in which I'm forced to be friendly with lots of people I don't know or really want to know. I get my socialization at work, and it's enough for me. (Strangely enough, I get a lot of customers who get their socialization from shopping, so I figure I'm not alone in this.)
5. I socialize like a hermit. As in I don't do it very well. It's all random, goofy, awkward rambling. Half the time I do not make a lick of sense. I'd love to say that the customers like me because I am a witty coversationalist, but the truth is, if they like me at all it's because they're amused at my attempts to try and make sense.
6. I am addicted to manga. If it looks like manga, I will look at it. If it reads like manga, I will read it. I have four bookshelves that are a testament to this.
If you like the number five...TAG! You're it. ^___^
And stuff found through my f-list:
Old fairytale-ish/fable stories. They are always so bizarre. O_o;;
