Fish lovers. Question?

Aug 16, 2009 10:22

So um, I went to PetCetra, which is going out of business, so EVERYTHING in the store was 80-90%. I won't bore you with the details of what I bought (needless to say, I had a blast) but I picked up a Betta Condo (why you ask? because I'm a consumate shopper, and it was $1)

So, uh. I want a fish. You see, I don't have a good track record with fish. They seem to want to commit suicide in my household. One ingenious little goldfish (Timothy) managed to wiggle out of a 1" hole in his aquarium at the top and jump out of it and die. It was sad.

So, I've got this Betta Condo now, and I was thinking, why not get a Betta. The petpeople assured me that Bettas can live quite comfortably in small environments...is that true? Or am I dooming the fish to a shitty, claustraphobic existance? (the Condo is probably 5" x 7" so small)

And if its ok to keep him in the small condo, how often do I have to change the water?

(btw, anyone else see the irony of me posting my Kitty Icon for this question :P)

stuff that i refuse to quantify
