I am so happy. I feel like I am living in a dream. It's not perfect, but the things I have to be thankful for by far outweigh the imperfections.
At work I just got added to another account, a New York health care provider. I'm really excited about all the learning opportunities, and I really like my new team. And how many people can say that they got to work on two accounts at their first job straight out of college?
My apartment is wonderful. It's a brand new building with a gym. I can see midtown Manhattan through bedroom window and do laundry without leaving the apartment. My roommates are nice and responsible, and I enjoy their company. It's nice because my apartment feels like home. The neighborhood around my apartment is nice too. There's three piers and a park right across the street, and there's a wall for me to hit some tennis balls. In fact, today I hurried home after a long day of work, so I could change and hit the court before sunset. It's been ages since I've picked up a racket, so it was a rough half hour but I'm hoping that I can get it back.
I have a few friends here, but working full time and having no car makes it hard to meet up. Everyone, myself included, is usually busy, which really makes me appreciate my roommates. And I've met someone that makes me happy.
A couple weekends back, the roomies and I rented a U-Haul to pick up some furniture from Craigslist and Ikea. It was one of the most exhausting Saturdays of my life, but it was rewarding to see the apartment come together. This past weekend, I caught a cold. I think all of the late nights caught up with me because even if I went out, I would wake up at the same time for work.
I need to get back to cleaning up.
