I'm listening to K teach Adrian how to wrap my present, while I'm safe in the other room, face first in the 'puter. We are just back from the group party at Cookies' where we handed out the hand made bookmarks in the second hand books we found for people. I'm most proud of the one that we got for Da Beau...a 100 year old copy with both Christopher Marlow and Goethe's Faust. I had told everyone that the book wasn't the present, the present was IN the book. He beamed, held his up, and said "Are you sure? Cause this sure looks like the present to me!"
Skyler and he etched glass mugs and shot glasses for everyone, with mythical liquors that they made up for us, individually. We got "Narcissus Liqueur."
Sprite made personalized cinnamon cookie ornaments for people. Mine is a phoenix, Bug's is Stitch, and K's is a dragonfly. Lovely!
Cookie and her group made beaded bracelets in everyone's favorite colors. Mine is very colorful as I listed several colors. It's perfect!
Brother-In-Love gave us each a 6-pack of home brewed beer. Ours has a lovely chocolate hazlenut brown ale that I want every drop of, for my own. Oh my god it's the best beer ever ever!
We drank and sang and ate and hugged and loved and laughed just enough. The best part was that Skyer made it. I had not expected him, because I misunderstood when he was off work. It turned out to be a really happy misunderstanding.
I love my beautiful circle of friends. I love that we can make handmade gifts and sing together and that is wonderful to all of us, even the children.
K and Bug don't know it, but I saved two of the very prettiest bookmarks for them.
