How YooChun Got the Girl. Rix, we seriously have to think of a name for this verse. Its plunnies are multiplying like mad!!!
The title of this series is taken from the song
Crazy for this Girl by Evan and Jaron.
She’s spending too much time with him, YunHo thought one day, reading YooChun’s text message - Having dinner with Soomi after recording, don’t wait up. I have the keys anyway.
YunHo couldn’t quite put a finger on it, why he feels uneasy seeing her, or even thinking about her. YooChun had brought her to the apartment several times already, and everyone seems to have warmed up to her, but something wasn’t quite right.
“YooChun hyung’s having a date with Rae nuna again,” ChangMin announced, apparently also getting YooChun’s message. “You think it’s serious? They’ve been having too many dates…”
“YooChun’s been having dates with lots of girls,” YunHo said, try to sound nonchalant. “I don’t see why she’s any different.”
JaeJoong, who was busy cooking dinner, looked up from his stew and said, “Nah… I think he’s found the one.”
Everyone in the table looked at him, anticipating his next word, which followed after he tasted some of the stew off his ladle. “I caught him writing a song the other day. Had her name all over it in scribbles.”
“Ooooh,” ChangMin said. “Interesting.”
JunSu nodded in agreement. “I think she’s good for him. She’s very nice. And smart too!”
“And she can cook!” ChangMin added enthusiastically, afterwards asking, “You think YooChun hyung’s getting laid?”
“SHIM CHANGMIN!!!”
It was in August when YunHo came down with a bad flu that triggered more complications in his body, requiring him to be confined in the hospital for at least a week. JaeJoong, YooChun, JunSu and ChangMin visited him every once in a while, but when they were busy with work or just too tired to get their asses off bed, YunHo spent time alone thinking up songs he’d like to compose, choreographing dances in his head, or just imagining being home with his family.
He had an unexpected visitor one night though, but it was already past visiting hours when she came.
“Is this Mr. Jung YunHo’s room?”
“Yes, this is… but visiting hours are over now,” the attending nurse, who had just come out from giving YunHo some medicine, said.
“Oh… that’s too bad… You see I just came from school, and went home to cook something for him…”
YunHo sat up, That voice…
“You can leave it here if you want to. I’ll make sure he gets it,” the nurse offered.
“Oh, really? Thank you so much!”
I know that voice… is it…?
Before YunHo could open his mouth to speak and call out to the visitor outside, the nurse already went back in, holding a lunchbox in her hand. “A nice young lady came to give this to you…” she said and placed the lunchbox on the bedside table.
YunHo stared at the lunchbox. “Thank you…”
“Would there be anything else, Mr. Jung?”
YunHo shook his head, mumbled a word of thanks and watched the nurse leave the room before reaching for the lunchbox and putting it on his lap. There was a piece of notebook paper stuck on it that said:
Hi YunHo, heard you were sick. I hope you get well soon. I’m guessing you haven’t tried this dish before. It’s called chicken sopas. Go on, try it! ~Rae
Chicken sopas? Never heard of this before…
He shrugged, Worth a try.
Rae came back three more nights, but always failed to make it before visiting hours were over. She always left him something to eat though, and little notes which were more prepared and written on little cards that amused him so much he stuck them on his bedside table.
The food she cooked were all new to him - sinigang, chopsuey and lomi - but they all tasted good, nonetheless, that he actually enjoyed being sick for once. He wished though, that he’d be able to see and thank her personally for the effort she had put on the dishes she brought over.
A day after he’d been discharged from the hospital, YunHo approached YooChun and asked for Rae’s number. “I heard she brought you a couple of dishes,” YooChun said, not looking up from his composition (which, he had hidden from YunHo’s view).
“Yeah,” YunHo replied, not wanting to say anything further for fear of hitting a nerve. He knew perfectly that YooChun has taken a liking to Rae, and him asking for her number must’ve sounded pretty suspicious. “I just wanted to thank her… personally. You know…”
YooChun reached for his mobile phone and browsed for the number, afterwards handing it to YunHo. “That’s her number… I don’t know if you’ll be able to get through to her, though…”
YunHo looked at the number on YooChun’s phone, and then looked back at him, “Why not?”
“Last time I talked to her, she was feeling under the weather. She’s been staying up late for the past few days, busying herself and all. I guess she’s preparing for an exam or something… We haven’t seen each other for a while as well.”
YunHo didn’t know whether to be happy or sad upon hearing YooChun say that.
