Oh My God! This is so cool! Laurell K Hamilton (Merry Gentry, Anita Blake novels -- utterly amazing!) has written another book! Wahoo! Soooo Cannot wait for that one! Check it out... no, really, you have to, you really should.
Squee! Also, all my fellow HP fiction fans out there, check
Lightning on the Wave lightningwave out! She's written this amazing AU of Harry Potter as a Slytherin, with a twin brother. And it is soooo not as cliched as it sounds. Really -- the writing, the plot, the characters, the conversations, the scenes, the spells, the mysteries, the sheer intricate planning and detail that goes into each and every chapter is simply breathtaking. That girl was bugged by one serious plot bunny. She's my new Goddess (not that J K Rowling isn't a Goddess, its just... she's less of the slash and more of the... het). If you go to her lj or user profile on FF.Net, she's given a description of the basic background of the, as she calls it, "Massive Freakin' AU". Really deserves a check, or, wait, more than a check. Anybody reading this, you *have* to read that fic, whether or not you're fond of HP slash or the DM/HP pairing (which is what it is, or, more accurately, what it will be from sometime during fourth year onwards). Seriously, at least check out the description, and if that doesn't hook you, read a few chapters of the first story, "Saving Connor". That will definitely get you hooked. Hell, if you're complete homophobes or just uncomfortable with slash in general or HP/DM in particular, just read up to the end of the third story, which she hasn't finished yet.

P.S. Don't worry, fellow
harry_dracoers, that last part wasn't directed at you -- this entry cross-posted.
