TV/Movie Fandom Sponsors

Want to know a secret? Fandom Sponsorship is one of the features I like best on Skyehawke, maybe because it's so unique to this site. However, it seems that Sponsorship is also one of the most under-used features on the site. It has the potential help build smaller communities within this rather large site, bring people together and help new authors find their place within Skyehawke. In truth, it's mostly a dormant feature, used not even by a handful of people around here. A shame, I must say.
In case you've used Skyehawke without ever thinking much about fandom sponsors, here is a short explanation what they (can) do: A fandom sponsor is responsible for the fandom s/he picked (you can always be a sponsor for multiple fandoms - the sky is the limit, there's no maximum). As a sponsor, a user gets a few helpful extra features. One is the ability to post news which will then come up on Skyehawke's front page - instant visibility of what you feel is important for your fandom. What kind of news a sponsor posts, is always up to him/her. It could be fandom-related - new book coming out, film being made, look at the challenge over there, have you seen the awards on that page -, it could also be related to the site - look at this story, check out that author. Whatever a sponsor feels is relevant, can be posted.
Also, a sponsor can add and edit character lists for that particular fandoms, so that authors have an easier time adding stories. And if time permits, a sponsor should be on the lookout for new talent s/he could invite to Skyehawke.
We do have quite a few fandoms in the tv/movie category that are sponsored, but of course more involvement is always welcome. So, here is a list of fandoms where the "job" is vacant:
If you think about becoming a sponsor for one of these fandoms, please reply either here or (even better) stake your claim at the forum. Being a sponsor is not a full-time job, we are grateful for whatever time you are able to dedicate to this. There's no pressure involved from any side and it's not a lifetime commitment if you feel it's not up to your liking after all. In turn, if you already are a sponsor and you've moved on to greener pastures (read: other fandom) and want to give up your sponsorship, just let us know. There's really no shame in that:)
And for everyone more interested in the idea of fandom sponsorship (especially what it might be able to do in the future), we also have a forum to bounce ideas.
