Well, it's the end of an era - both Colleen and Aaron are officially off to graduate school! It's going to be a bummer not having them around, but I know they'll both do great things.
Justin and Grace's wedding was a lot of fun. No hot single guys that I could find, but still a blast. Neither family has money, so they had the wedding in my uncle and aunt's backyard. They set up a huge tent and surrounded their little pond with tikki torches and had a canoe floating in the middle full of flowers. The actual ceremony was up on the hill, and they set up hay bales with tablecloths for people to sit on. Grace looked beautiful; the dress was simple, yet elegant, and Justin was wearing khakis and a shirt and sandals ^_^ Uncle John was dressed pretty much like every other time I see him. Nearly all the food was made and donated by friends and relatives (including the cake), and instead of commemorative wine glasses or champagne flutes, they had commemorative pint glasses and a keg. There was a bluegrass band, and Anna and all of the little cousins were dancing and running around. It was a great time. Plus, Dad and Andrea rented a big house for us, Grandma, and the Ziehms to stay in, and we hung out and played pool. Jason brought Miha with him - I wonder if they'll be getting married soon! I just hope it won't be August 8-10 next year ^_^ I would have loved to get Tomokazu Seki's autograph - he's my favorite voice actor.
The heat here is just AWFUL. I haven't be able to get to the Co-op for groceries, because it's too hot to walk anywhere. I can barely get to work without feeling like passing out. I was going to ride my bike to Anime Iowa this weekend, but now I think I'll be calling a cab! I've never been to a con this small, so it will be interesting. Plus, there's something to be said for being completely anonymous at these cons. This time, I'll have a resonably good shot at seeing someone I know and will see again. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing yet - it might affect what costume I choose to wear :)
