Hmmm... I need some new userpics. Ones that aren't related to characters of mine. :p

So, yesterday I went in to work early again (8am). I fully expected to work until 530 because we're shorthanded (again!). I ended up staying until 6! It was odd because my parents decided to go out to dinner, and they came to pick me up at 530, but I couldn't leave. There was no one available to take my place in the classroom, and there were too many young kids to combine with other classes. So my mom comes in to find out what's taking so long. She ended up hanging out with me and the babies for about twenty minutes. It was kind of cool because she likes to meet the kids I talk about all the time. At the time, I had a 7 month old in my arms, and any time I would try to put him down he would cling to my shirt. This was interesting because thie same little boy cries off and on all day long. The quietest he'd been all day was when I was holding, and I'd never even seen him before. :D

So I got some overtime yesterday, then went to Outback Steakhouse and ate really yummy, good for me food (though I did eat part of the bloomin' onion as well and ruin the goodness from my main meal) But I got a grilled chicken breast with wild rice and grilled veggies and pineapple. It was yummy and had minimal extra fat. As opposed to my usual Alice Sping's Chicken which is smothered in cheese and bacon and honey mustard sauce...

As for the cleaning, well, I haven't gotten very far in the last two days, partly because I had no place to put the rubbish... since I filled the bins already. :p But tomorrow is trash day, so I shall be able to continue! I'm sleeping in the office still, because I'm focusing on getting rid of everything I want to get rid of first.

A lot of what I am keeping is in piles on my bed. Including most of the clothes that I've been wearing lately, because until this weekend I hadn't been able to get to my closet. But I can now!!! I even have room in my dresser drawers for the clothes I actually wear! Though I've had the same dresser since I was about three... There are hideous stickers all over it. Which is why it shall be staying in my closet, until it can be replaced.

I finally got a look at my tall skinny bookshelf and its content. I discovered to my surprise and a little sadness that of the four packed shelves... Only enough books to fill one shelf will probably ever be read by me again. There's a lot of Christian fiction that I've accumulated over the years... as well as some school textbooks. I have three Bibles. *blinks* Well four if you count the little pocket book of psalms and proverbs... I have my childhood Bible that is pink and has my name embossed on the cover, my Teen Bible which is new-fangled and paperback, so rather tattered looking, and my little New Testament that I got in like third grade. I am sad, because I have opened none of these in longer than I care to think about. They were such an important part of my life for so long that it's sad to not have them so prominent any more. I think I'm going to put my childhood Bible in my cedar chest... I don't know about the others yet.

So I shall be getting rid of more than just some old books from my childhood. It feels weird but good. I knew I needed a new bookshelf... I didn't realize I needed different books too.

I'm not done yet in my room... but I already feel so much better than I did even on Friday. It's cathartic I guess. My brain feels cleaner and I'm writing again!!! Or at least, I'm finally having ideas that are good enough to write down again. I've had writer's block for so long... But I'm finally writing new things instead of editing and re-editing and staring blankly at things I'd already written. *joy*

If I had known it would feel this good to clean things out, I might have done it earlier.

Who'm I kidding? This is a miracle in itself. *lol*
