As for the first one... It's crap. Life is cyclical. A bad thing happens. You claw back out a little. Another bad thing happens. You belly crawl up again. Bad thing. You flatten and wait. Something gets you moving up again. And wham! Down again.
No one deserves that. No one deserves abuse, cancer, birth defects, loss, hardship, pain. No one.
It's called Life.
Without pain, there isn't growth. But no one deserves pain. No One. Telling someone in the middle of a crappy period in their life that they don't deserve that pain is like saying they don't deserve the joy when a dream is fulfilled. It is not comforting. It is stupid. No one Deserves to lose a child. To be diagnosed with cancer. To have a failed marriage. Telling them so afterwards is dumb. Don't do it.
And for the second one. Well good things happen to bad people too. Also called Life. Maybe they deserved it.
