"Ugh." Pepper groaned as she entered the Mansion. She slowly made her way to the couch and laid down. She didn't have the energy to any further. She was just so tired and she ached all over.
This was bad. If she didn't know better, she would think that this was bad karma. However, she was pretty sure she hadn't done anything that horrible, except for hanging up on Marty Wilson CFO of Summit Technologies the other day because the man just wouldn't lay off. He's lucky Tony doesn't know of his 'I'm going to hound Pepper until she gives in and go on a date with me' attitude. Everybody knew Pepper Potts has Tony 'I am Iron Man' Stark as her boyfriend. It's either the man is out of his mind or he's actually not afraid of the billionaire/genius/superhero.
She closed her eyes and was almost in dreamland when he suddenly appeared at her side.
"Hey Pep, you alright?"
"Tony?" She shot up. "What-why are you here? I thought-"
"Wow. I'm glad to see you too, Potts." He chuckled before motioning to his left foot. It was in a cast. "I got injured so Fury had no choice but to send me home."
"Oh my God." She sighed and laid back down on the couch. "I don't want to know how that happened. Not right now." Her arm came up over her eyes. She sniffed.
"It's okay. It's not very exciting anyway." He gently took her hand away from her face and sat by her belly. "You got the sniffles?" He was met by her watery blue eyes, and If she wasn't looking so miserable he would have laughed at how cute she looked with a 'Rudolf the Red-Nose Reindeer' nose.
"Hmmm." She hummed, scooting a little to give him room. "I'm sorry, Tony. I know we had plans for tonight and I was really looking forward to it but I don't think I can handle it."
"It's alright, Pep." He cupped her cheek. "It's not like I can go around on this foot anyway. We'll just stay here and watch a movie or something."
"Okay." She smiled. Tony leaned forward, as if to kiss her, and she immediately covered her mouth. "No kissing. I don't want you getting my germs."
"Seriously?" He looked truly horrified. "It's Valentine's Day, Pepper!"
"I know, and I'm sorry but I don't want you getting sick. You already have a broken leg as it is."
"What are you trying to say?" He pouted.
"That you're worse than a three year old when you're sick." She told him, smiling sweetly.
"You're mean." He told her and continued in his best boss-voice. "Be advised Ms. Potts, I'm going to get you to kiss me before the day ends."
"I don't think so." She sniffed. "God, I need meds." She moved to stand up and get them but Tony stopped her.
"I'll get it." He said and before she could protest he was already limping away.
--------
"Pepper? Wake-y wake-y, Potts." She moaned. Tony was sitting by her hip and she turned and curled around him. He stroked her back soothingly. "Dinner time, Pep."
"How long was I out?" She murmured and moved to sit up on the couch. "What did you get?"
"About half an hour. And don't you mean 'what did you make'?" He grinned. She blinked.
"You-you made dinner?"
"It's not dinner dinner. But yeah, I made dinner."
"Which is?" Tony reached behind her head.
"I made pizza!" He exclaimed gloriously just like when one of his prototypes actually worked during testing. He handed her a plate with a slice on it.
"Tony, this is...."
"It's just pepperoni." He sighed. "That's the only pizza topping thing we had in the chiller." She nodded, still staring at the pizza.
"And they're....heart shaped."
"Yeah." He rubbed his neck. "I thought, you know, it's a special day and so...." He didn't get to finish as Pepper pulled him into a kiss. When they broke apart, Tony grinned.
"Don't say it." She playfully glared at him as she bit into the pizza. He laughed and kissed her cheek as she chewed.
"Love you, Potts."
END.
