300

Alright, I'm not going to lie. "300" is going to be very hard to be write about. The sheer amount of testosterone leaking from the very corners of that film could fill six or seven water towers.

In short: I loved it. Greatest guy movie ever.

Men: Do not take your girlfrends/sisters/mothers/female friends to see this movie. It's "Sin City" in ancient Greece. Frank Miller's version of the battle of Thermoplyae is graphic, gritty and gruesome. The old ultra-vioence creeps in everywhere. Blood spurts, bare breasts, gutteral cries of anguish/glory permeate the film. Also, if you are homophobic: avoid it, I don't want to hear you complain. All of the men in this film show off the male form as few movies have done. No full frontal nudity, but nevertheless.

The story is adapted from Frank Miller's "300," which is an reinterpretation of aforementioned battle between 300 or so Spartans and 1 million soldiers of the Persian empire (250,000 I believe in the actual history).

The acting isn't amazing. Seriously though, you don't watch these movies for the acting. Just the incredible action and drama. The action is intense, going into slow motion at just the right times. The imagery is outstanding, one of the final shots is intensely symbolic of a certain religious figure.

I found the film to be amazing. The art style was gripping, the action just crazy. It ranks in my favorites. 9 out of 10.
