Rape is NOT funny
Because not everyone on LJ seems to get this, I feel a need to reiterate what should be obvious.
Someone posted this piece of crap. The most offensive part is at the very end implying that as long as the girl doesn't know he did it, he can have sex with this passed out girl he brought home from a bar after pretending all night to care about anything she had to say that didn't relate to sex.
Rape is never okay. It's not okay just because someone is attractive, dressed provocatively, talking about boring stuff, uses bad manners, or is inebriated to the point of passing out. As a matter of fact, having sex with a person unable to reasonably give consent (and yes, that includes being drunk but not passed out) is called RAPE. And even if you personally would never do it, it's still not something to wink and laugh at when others imply it's okay. If you are inclined to think this video is not a big deal, consider how you might feel if someone were treating your daughter, son, or sibling like that. How far removed from you do they have to be to make it funny? Rape is NEVER okay and never funny no matter who is doing it, no matter to whom it is being done.
Anyone who is willing, please make a comment on that awful video's comment area to let people know you don't condone laughing about treating people in disrespectful and illegal ways.
