Right, then

I was going to post a rant here, but I don;t feel like it. Also, i got a myspace and will probably be doing most of my ranting there, where there's a wider local audience.

Anywho, i am excited and nervous and contemplative and amorous. I met a girl, you see. Well, technically, I met her acouple of months ago- her name is Emma (any jokes and I'll kill you), she's a freshman, and she was a kind of stagehand/chorus member in Cats, until the director put all of the chorus members into the cast, and she became a full cast member. I guess we kind of connected during the play itself, maybe a bit. She went to my cast party. We spent some more time together later when we went to see A Christmas Carol at the new Guthrie down in the cities. We spent most of the time at the theatre there together, as well as a signifigant portion of the ride home. She's in speech, so we've seen eachother at a few meetings for that. Anyway, i was looking for a date to Snowball (winter dance), and everyone kept on suggesting all these different people, but especially Emma. I by that time was already developing a crush, so i went ahead. I was too nervous to ask though. i had declared my intention to do soto a few friends, but was too much of a coward. Then, one day, I decided i would. I'm sitting there in homeroom, having made up my mind I would ask her, and her friend walks in, stands nextto my desk, and gives me a glare

"Have you asked her yet?"
"What?"
"She's been waiting all wekk for you to ask her to snowball. Ask her. Now."
"Oh... ok."

So I go and attend my classes, keeping a lookout. I don't have psych that day, so I go to the commonsto eat early and I see her there. I get nervous and can;t remember how I had decidedto ask her. So I walk up

"Hey, Emma, I'm going to take you to snowball"
"Ok"
*awkward silence*
"Right then.... so.... see you on monday, then"
*awkward silence*
"...Ok"

The date itself went OK. I got dropped off at her house by Maura, and Emma looked... well, she looked bloody stunning, is what she looked like. So our two friends, a hispanic couple, arrive, and we go eat. Good food, easy enough conversation. I think she must have had something on her mind; she didn;t laugh as much as she usually does- either that or I just epically failed at being funny or amusing in any way. At the dance itself, she seemed a bit shy about dancing. She spent most of the time with another freshman girl, friend of hers. till, i managedto get in at least one good dance, to Van Morrison singing "Brown Eyed Girl". Overall, a pretty good first date, I think.

But yeah, I'm still nervous. She seemed to like me a lot before, and her friends seem to indicate that she did, but she seemed kind of cool towards me at the dance. Maybe she justdoesn;t like to dance. Should I take her to a movie? How long can I keep up dating anyone without a car, anyway? I'm confused and whatnot.
